To be honest, I've never been a huge fan of this table.
I revisited it again for the first time in many years at the Louisville Arcade Expo and my opinion hasn't changed.
However, I would still purchase it on PS4 if they were to add it to The Pinball Arcade.
Special Force is soooooooo fun. Highly underrated table. If more people had played this one in person, it would be higher up on the lists for sure.
Played it at the Louisville Arcade Expo and it came away as my favorite of the day, easily.
Was next in line to play Baywatch but then it got shut down.
Almost played Joust as well, but we couldn't figure out how to get it started. I assume whoever came along next restarted the machine and got it working just fine. Looked awesome, though!
Only attended on Saturday, but here's my playlist...
Star Trek: The Next Generation (Williams, 1993)
Eight Ball Deluxe (Bally, 1981)
Barracora (Williams, 1981)
Nip It (Bally, 1973)
Black Hole (Gottlieb, 1981)
Adams Family (Midway, 1992)
Bram Stoker's Dracula (Williams, 1993)
Gorgar (Williams...
Here's another vote for Hollywood Heat!
And speaking of Gottlieb/Premier, I think Monte Carlo (1986) would be a fun one for Pinball Arcade. Has great music and theme, and the mini roulette wheel below the playfield would definitely be something a little different.
Unless of course, the...
Looks like some licensing issues preventing Dr. Who Lego sets has recently been lifted... http://www.denofgeek.com/tv/doctor-who/29466/are-doctor-who-lego-sets-on-the-way
Could now be the time to strike while the iron is hot, for FarSight and Pinball Arcade?
Any of the older tables, without all the fancy animations, toys, and ramps. Stuff like Black Hole, Gorgar, and Hot Shot.
I find myself playing these more and more often. I find that I get less tired of these than I do the more modern tables for some reason.
I still think Freddy is a very realistic get, if they wanted to go that route. Warner Bros. has been licensing Freddy out pretty heavily to toy and other companies in the last few years.
There's even a Freddy grilling apron, for goodness sakes. And Freddy even showed up as DLC in a recent...
Which makes no sense because they've already bagged some pretty hefty licenses. Harley Davidson... Ripley's... Universal Monsters... Star Trek... Terminator... Twilight Zone...
I don't understand why FarSight balks at the notion of doing a Kickstarter for Dr. Who.
Surely Who has a very similar fanbase to Star Trek, that spends a good chunk of change year in and year out on Who merchandise. I think a Kickstarter would be a fairly easy sell to the Who fanbase. Not only...
Actually, now that I think about it... Rollergames might actually fall under the licensed category.
In that case... Non-licensed Tables:
Special Force
TX Sector
Radical
Licensed Tables
Freddy: A Nightmare on Elm Street
Indiana Jones (Williams)
Dirty Harry
Non-licensed tables...
Rollergames
Special Force
TX-Sector
Licensed Games (assuming Addams Family is already in the works)
Freddy: A Nightmare on Elm Street
Indiana Jones (Williams)
Dirty Harry
Well, the table is now mine!
The "WINNER!" topper still lights up and is 100% intact. The original translite is a bit faded, but the cabinet is near flawless. The only wearing I noticed on the playfield is between the pop bumpers. Other than that, it looks almost brand new. I counted only 4...
When I created the original post, I only went back as far as August of 2013.
So all those notes are how FarSight (or whoever is representing them on their FB page) felt about that particular table as recent as August of 2013 and forward. So, not 12 months. 5 or 6 at most.
