There were two disc-based comps, Gottlieb and Williams PHOF. Lots of people have played those over the years. Kind of outdated and what-not, but if you want discs, those are your only options. I believe they are making another collection for 3DS too. Not sure if I'll get it though since it would...
Goin' Nuts! Because it takes three balls to become a true pinball wizard... :o
I'm happy that this is getting released. Now I won't have to go out of my way to dump $30 on the hard-to-find Gottlieb Collection for Wii just to satiate my curiosity. That hour long Wii marathon is epic btw...
Good idea, however, some gamers might get burned out buying too similar Pinball tables, especially those sequels that have the same layout.
For example, Pinbot and Jackbot have identical layouts, as do High Speed and Getaway. However, Bride of Pinbot is a completely different table from Pinbot...
Basically, the whole point of a Pinball machine (or any arcade game) is not to entertain you but to steal your quarters. Thing is, people are more likely to spend money on a machine that provides some form of entertainment. Without hazards such as outlanes and cheap SDTM shots, even a novice...
Android version is designed to be compatible with a wide range of hardware and utilizes the touch screen. Ouya's version is optimized to take full advantage of the Tegra 3 processor and use a real game controller.
BTW, if you can't tolerate the controller lag, sync a PS3 controller to the Ouya. ;)
PS3 controllers are lag-free and sync well with Ouya.
My personal recommendation is to get a PS3 controller if you don't already have one, and use that to play on TPA. It makes a world of difference and the game-breaking lag is totally eliminated. Also if you have a particularly problematic...
Sorry, but IMO The Pinball Arcade is more than just a video game. It's about preserving pinball for future generations as well. If a prototype game or two is included within TPA, that is fine by my book. I didn't get the opportunity to play Goin' Nuts because I had the original Gottlieb...
Maybe I'm in the minority. Black Hole was my favorite table from the Gottlieb Pinball Hall of Fame (I used to play it on Game Cube a lot). ATM I don't have a top ten list, but here is a top 5 list of some of my most played tables (I own all of them):
My Top 5 List:
#1 - Bride of Pinbot
#2 -...
So you assume there's lots of people sitting around waiting until the end of the campaign to see if it gets close enough before they pledge? I noticed the previous two Farsight Kickstarters only made marginally over their initial goals.
Nothing like Ouya with nearly 10 times the initial goal...
Okay we have confirmed Flight2000. Is the next table Goin' Nuts or Tee'd Off?
I have the Gottlieb Collection for Game Cube (and I used to play the heck out of it too). While I cannot vouch for the other games, Tee'd off is completely broken on the Game Cube version. The ball has a bad, bad, bad...
High Speed is an awesome table. If I had to select one I'd pick High Speed, but either would be better than none at all. I own High Speed on NES (cartridge), and it is one of the finest 8-bit pinball sims I've ever played. I voted up both in the Williams poll just to make sure at least one of...
I thought it would be cool to get an option to "shuffle" the ball color. Just dispense a different colored ball every time one is dispensed to the plunger. However, I'm not quite sure if this would cause bugs with multiball on the tables. It could be the engine is designed to only allow a single...
Can I ask a question, does any of this apply to Ouya?
I purchased my Ouya from a Kickstarter backer and purchased most of the table packs available prior to the June 24th update. Then I noticed that season 1 and 2 were available for purchase individually. I was like "well crap, I could have...
Maybe but they will add up pretty quick. I pledged $10. Please don't hate me because I'm on a budget. I prefer to show support buy actually buying their tables.
However, if it was Super Mario brothers I'd pledge $50 though. Probably not gonna happen unless it becomes a Wii-U exclusive.
I wouldn't mind a whirl on Goin' Nuts. I missed the opportunity of playing that table because it was excluded from the Game Cube Gottlieb collection (and I used an Action Replay to unlock all of the hidden tables, including Playboy). Goin' Nuts is really bizarre in so many ways but intriguing as...
I bought all of the tables for Ouya and I don't regret it one bit. I don't use smartphones and I've given up waiting for the software to release on Wii-U.
Something terrible happened the other night. I was in the process of downloading a crap-ton of free games from the Ouya store I had queued...
I must confess, I got tired of waiting for the Wii-U version to come out, so I jumped ship and downloaded Pinball Arcade on my new Ouya (I bought a pre-launch Ouya from a Kickstarter backer and I've been loving Pinball Arcade for about a month now and I've purchased all the tables so far). I...
I saw the video on youtube the other night, then loaded Pinball Arcade and what a surpized to find the new table update:

I downloaded the latest table pack on my Ouya last night. Definitely needs a fan mounted behind the TV set. The ceiling...
