Zen is using the Unreal Engine for the new Pinball FX, just as they have on their previous EGS exclusive games. Semantics are just that, while the bottom line is the bottom line. If you feel that Valve's licensing practices with the source engine did not restrict some games from being made...
I have no problem with the Epic Games Store, nor how Epic is securing exclusives. You know, Valve did the same thing when they were starting out and there was a similar hate for them in the beginning. I doubt that I will buy the remastered originals (even if they are practically free) as I don't...
Crazy huh? It may not be hubris guiding them, but just complete ignorance. The irony of Mel saying he understands they did a poor job with the FX2 to FX3 transition while then going on with how the new Pinball FX roll out will be handled is pure gold.
What I don't get is Zen said their...
No kidding, but this had to be expected. There wasn't really a single announcement in this episode that could be considered current customer friendly. And it gets to live on in Youtube land... I'm beginning to wonder if Zen is being guided by hubris at this point.
Had this been announced via a...
Mel expanded on this in another forum. Due to how Zen secures licensing, VR is handled completely separate from the regular game. We should expect to see more VR releases in the future, but these will be stand alone IP centered products that are not associated with Pinball FX.
If multiplayer and clan modes are what Zen is hoping for, I doubt we ever see a Steam version as I would guess that each storefront platform is not compatible with any other. Switch isn't going to be playing with PC, etc.
May as well copy/paste this over...
Pinball FX as answered by Mel on Episode 3.
None of your FX3 table purchases will carry over to the new Pinball FX on any platform.
Exclusive to EPIC store for one year. (I think it may stay an Epic store exclusive, or at least we may have Epic store DLC...

HUH? You are quickly becoming my new favorite source of forum chuckles, and for that I guess I should thank you.
Anyway, I was referring to YOUR phone and the fact that you stated that YOUR processor, according to benchmarks, is not as good as the one in an S7, which is a 5 year old phone...
It probably doesn't make much sense for Zen to address isolated refresh rate issues on hardware that doesn't match up to a phone (S7) that was released more than 5 years ago.
You'd be surprised how many other things are running on your phone that you are unaware of. For whatever it is worth, I run the Williams app with all the mumbo jumbo turned off (I'm a purist) and on the following devices with zero performance issues: Samsung Galaxy S7 (2560x1440), Pixel 3a (2220...
As previously stated, the Android phone version is a completely different build and game engine from the PC version. You shouldn't compare your performance and bugs to anything other than the Android build you are currently using. Emulating Alphanumeric on the DMD display was a problem with...
You are obviously new here.
Shutyertrap is one of the people behind the blahcade podcast, has an extensive history with both Farsight and Zen, and has been a mostly fair and balanced critic of Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX. Outside of a handful of participants (And they are all over here...
You mentioned Steam which is a PC platform and which was patched back in December, but now you are suggesting the actual issue you have is with the mobile version. These are two different game engines and each have their own unique bugs and feature set.
Actually, Zen did fix the lag bug (and some other things) on the Vol 6 tables back in December. This was mainly a DMD issue and if you are still experiencing the problem (which was more prevalent in cabinet mode) you might need to make sure you have your monitor set correctly to borderless...
Oh, there will be more complaining soon... There are still Xbox Gold pricing changes happening in certain regions, and MS is still going to eventually push everyone over from a Gold to a Game Pass Ultimate sub.
