K’NEX Full-Sized Pinball Machine (with automatic scoring)

Zen Studios acquired by Embracer Group

I’m kind of wondering if they’ve just been working on Pinball FX4 and that could explain the slow trickle of tables last year (if it’s not just Covid issues). The new console generation is here after all, so it’s a logical time and would be well worth the wait. We also know we are going to get...

    Arcade1up Star Wars pinball

I didn’t know Zaccaria had VR support! Too bad my PC is way too weak to run it. FX2 on Quest is a quick and dirty port of an Oculus Go game and it still looks pretty nice on Quest 2 so I’m guessing I will be more than happy with the visual upgrades on the much more powerful Quest 2 hardware...

    Arcade1up Star Wars pinball

Oh yeah, that too! Super exciting stuff. I’m going to be buying every single VR table no matter how they package it. Been waiting so long for this!

    Arcade1up Star Wars pinball

Yeah, it’s news that has definitely flew under the radar. Only place I saw it mentioned was on the PinballFX3 subreddit. I’m hoping it’s a general Pinball FX4 announcement that includes support for VR across all of the platforms that can support it, but I’ll be happy with anything that gets me...

    Arcade1up Star Wars pinball

For sure! “We have a major VR product in development right now. We will be announcing it in February of next year [2021]. Our current pinball VR is pretty epic... it’s pretty cool. This is gonna just... this is going next-level.” Then he confirms it will be available on Oculus Quest 2 and...

    Arcade1up Star Wars pinball

The display is pretty tiny. I prefer the idea of playing digital pinball in VR over having a big cabinet in my place anyway though. I’m thrilled that Zen said they will announce that in February. If there is some kind of physical peripheral in the equation, it will be the best way to play...

    Williams' Collection Volume 6 guesses

I'm with you. The Zen versions are so vastly superior, it makes every TPA table irrelevant. I haven't even touched TPA in years now. Zen totally revived my interest in digital pinball with these Williams machines, and I'm happy to let them keep selecting the tables they want to work on without...

    Williams' Collection Volume 6 guesses

The alphanumeric era is probably my favorite. I'm crazy about those tables. Sure hope we start seeing them in 2020.

So What Is The Holy Grail Now?

Yup, broken promises sounds about right from Farsight Studios.

So What Is The Holy Grail Now?

Nah, TPA is dead. Farsight wouldn't even fix the bugs or make any improvements while they were pumping out table after table, so there's no way they are going to support it now that they don't even have the license to sell the best tables. I appreciate what they did for digital pinball, but...

Williams Classic Arcade flipper physics and ball weight and physics

The new physics really are fantastic. I think a periodic reset of the leaderboard scores is just fine. Gameplay is much more important than bragging rights... and if you're actually that good at a table, then prove it by getting a high score again.

Williams Pinball Universal Monsters™ Pack on October 29!

$19.95 per table? I don't think even most of us enthusiasts would be willing to pay that, and the masses definitely wouldn't.

Williams Pinball Universal Monsters™ Pack on October 29!

Not hating on Zen's designers at all. I like a lot of their digital tables. I just like the classic machines better. Zen has done a much better job than Farsight on their recreations so far, so I'm happy all around right now. I hope you get a chance to play a real pinball machine. It's a very...

Williams Pinball Universal Monsters™ Pack on October 29!

But, you know, Williams/Bally had better table designers than Zen. I support the guys at Zen and hope their lives are going very well and their family pets live long and flea-free lives, but I think even their designers would admit that they're no Pat Lawlor, Steve Ritchie, John Popadiuk, etc...

    Williams' Collection Volume 5 guesses

I'm totally fine with it being only two tables, since it's two really awesome tables... and of course the licensing costs come into play for Zen. Ten bucks. Whatevs. Looking forward to it.

Any chances of getting the Williams tables in VR?

Somebody asked on the Zen forums and they said it "makes sense" to expand their VR offerings but that they have nothing to announce. I bought a Quest and love it. I'd probably repurchase every table on there.
