So, I just upgraded to the Galaxy S5 (from my S3) and enabled the ART runtime.

Definitely snappier all over, and TPA runs great!! Seems more "in-sync" with the sound, and operates very smooth.

Lovin' this new S5. Mip-mapping off, High LOD and this is one of the best ways to play TPA, IMO!

Now, if Samsung would get off their butts and release KitKat for my Note 10.1, I'd be thrilled... ;)

Turns out that AOSP commits are revealing/confirming the demise of Dalvik in the next major Android version.

Let's hope xposed framework catches up soon.

From what I understand, ART will be the new default, with an option to enable Dalvik... basically, the reverse of how it is now.

That's not what I read. Do you have a link to that source? All Android Police coverage I read suggested that Dalvik was being hosed completely. Including links to the commit logs.

I haven't updated my nexus 10 yet to 4.4.3 but on 4.4.2 there was no ART option. IDK if it will be a runtime on all devices as it wasn't rolled out to all devices.

As AOSP is the dev root for all nexus devices, and the changes were applied in trunk, I think you might be seeing it sooner than you think...

We'll just have to wait and see. Perhaps the branches for Nexus 10 won't see the commit ported.

Finally got around to flashing my Nexus 10 to 4.4.4 and still no ART, so it's still a take it for what it is development in re: to whether or not ART will become the default runtime.

Any news from using "L" yet Jared?

Not touching L with a 10 foot digital pole. From all reports it is definitely "developer" only at this stage.

Sounds like the latest build of Aurora. I have had to roll back my browser and it's not trying to force an update after yesterdays build being crash-bait.
