Atomic Pinball Collection (APC)

Apple just shined a spotlight on pinball today in their Daily List feature, which is great. The featured article is called Pinball Games That Go Full Tilt, and they highlight ten different offerings. Sort of.

In the past, features like this have included the Atomic Pinball Collection, and rightfully so. How about this time? Nope. Instead, we see Zen’s strategy of breaking their tables out of the main app paying off handsomely. Fully seven of the ten featured apps are from Zen.

Sigh.

I still find myself playing Atomic Pinball on my phone at least once a week. Their biggest flaw are the flippers, which I wish they would have taken the time to fix before abandoning the game. The flippers react too slow, and are underpowered. I know they were going for an EM sort of feel, but the tables are not EM style tables, and the flippers need more power and speed.
