That's the way I personally backup & archive my scores...it's tried and true.I figured that if I wanted to migrate the scores/HOF points from the newer iPad to the new Air 2, I could do that also via iExplorer or iFun, after installing TPA on the Air 2.
BTW, congrats on the Air 2. I traded in my kid's mini 1 yesterday ($150 Best Buy trade-in) and got another mini 2. IMO, the mini 3 is pointless. Since there likely won't be any new iPads for another year or so, the time was right to trade the mini 1 in...the technology is two years old, the system/application RAM is only 512 MB & the battery was showing signs of possibly being on it's way out. Rather than spend $100 for a battery replacement from Apple, I traded it in and spent $150 on a new mini 2 with another years warranty, brand new battery and up-to-date technology.
Report back with your findings running TPA on the Air 2.
