Earlier when Mike mentioned that NDAs were preventing him from explaining the 360 delays it actually occurred to me that Crave might be in trouble and FarSight might be looking for a new XBLA publisher, but for some reason I dismissed it instead of posting it here.

In the newsletter, it was mentioned that the delay was due to Crave having financial problems. So it looks like they need a new publisher. MS also has some red tape when games switch publishers with games like Doom and Psychonauts taking a year or more to come back.

Probably because there are Very Serious Legal Issues (tm) involved when a game changes publishers. The handover must be well documented that the old publisher is giving up any and all rights, plus there will have to be a transfer of purchases - after all, now that Crave is gone, what happens to our TPA game on Xbox? Will the new publisher make us buy it all over again?

And what about whoever buys up Craves assets? Could they demand TPA be restricted because TPA is a "valuable asset" that was sold improperly?

Lots of copyright issues, and Microsoft doesn't want to end up getting sued because they published a game that was improperly handed over (MS is rich. The publisher probably isn't as loaded. Lawyers go for the blood.)

So we're looking at a year, minimum, before we see anything. I suppose it's better than discontinuing the platform, though the way this situation is deteriorating, I won't be surprised to see that happen.

That may be so, but other companies have far less tape than MS when it comes to approving games that switch publishers.

Just saw this on Faceache....

"The Pinball Arcade We are still working on the 360 issues now. We can say the next table we release on the 360 will be Twilight Zone."

Hopefully timed with the releases on the other platforms.

Look at the dates of the posts on this thread.
A month slides by between posts, and no one bats an eyelid now.

If something breaks, I'll be over the moon, but I've kind of given up now.

Still a great forum group, I'll hang around for a while.

Stop bumping until the news comes. I don't want to hear anything else about this until then. My heart is broken.

Come on Clae, keep it together, we're all here for you.

We need to set up an xbox support buddy system. Someone you can call to talk you down, as you walk past the consoles in the stores, and start contemplating a PS3.

Dark days indeed.

I'm getting more and more upset about the whole situtation. :(

I too am getting "le pissed off" (as the French say) about the lack of developments and communication regarding the 360 tables. Why can't FarSight at least make an effort to give little tidbits of what's going on? AND if nothing is happening right now, Why is that? How long does it take to get a publisher? Why leave the 360 users in the dark like this? Why not cancel tables for the 360 platform all together than to put people through this waiting game and go through this mess?

Assume they have been and get on with your life? No amount of whining is going to change things, it takes time to find a publisher, sign contracts and reach agreements.

For legal reasons they won't be able to say who they're in discussions with until a deal is done.

Well I wasn't whining, I was simply asking questions. And FarSight doesn't have to disclose who they are in discussions with, just say that they are even having discussions period to resolve this matter. Any piece of information is better than absolutely nothing.

How long does it take to get a publisher?
Obviously longer than you'd have thought.

Why leave the 360 users in the dark like this?
Because a) they are not allowed to talk about it and b) even if they were, they would weaken their position in an ongoing negotiation.

Why not cancel tables for the 360 platform all together than to put people through this waiting game and go through this mess?
Not whining? Sure.

Edit:
And FarSight doesn't have to disclose who they are in discussions with, just say that they are even having discussions
And how often do you want them to tell us that they are? Daily? They said they are, that has to be enough for now. Why should they withhold information? To anger their customers?

Rafie, you are bad and you should feel bad. :)

TPA/XBOX fiasco is single-handedly responsible for me purchasing a PS3, joining PS plus network, and letting my Xbox live gold account expire. Now that I see how PS treats their "gold" members I see what a waste it is to plunk down 50 bucks each year for nothing. I've got free Pac Man, Laura Croft, Resident Evil, Dungeon Defenders, and other games I haven't had time to try yet.

Hey Rafie, I certainly didn't want to attack you. Hell, I didn't even want to attack aangel, at least not as much as my post suggests on reading it again. I just can't stand the pointless grouchiness that is spreading here more and more. There are a lot of threads in which people can voice their frustration. And there are a lot of threads containing constructive critcism. But I certainly don't need to read the same silly comments and questions over and over again.

And just to be clear, I'm neither blind nor deaf and I know that there are more than just a few things regarding TPA that don't go as they should. The XBox situation, KS rewards too late and the PS Vita version seemingly almost neglected to name just a few that come to mind instantly.

Point being: It's not what you say, but how you say it. Be nice, ask nicely. That's all.

Dude you could have skipped and ignored my inquiries if they were rubbing you the wrong way, but obviously you needed to vent JUST like I did, right?

I wasn't rude with my questions to being with. You felt the need to be offended. There was nothing wrong with my posts.
