all of us pin heads are blessed, TPA is truly a dream come true.... just think about it, the original machines all a click away and in pristine condition! it's really almost to good to be true. THANK YOU TPA!...that being said, how long and how many machines do they intend to re-create? and if their is a limit, do you think TPA will regret not siezing the moment choosing instead to re-create tables like blackknight when they may have done playboy, fireball, kiss, simpsons, comet, cyclone.... i know that everyone has their own favorites, and maybe some people would prefer to play the blacknight over cyclone(though i truly doubt this) but if and when the TPA feels they are done re-creating machines i hope we are left with a lot more premier tables then some of the less desireables/

FS will continue making it until it stops being popular. That's about it. If it makes enough money, they have no reason to stop.

And I doubt many people will want any more... "Premier" tables :p

It will end, everything ends...
But we still a few seasons ahead of us...
Don't think too much about it and enjoy the gaming ahead of you ^^

Why wold it end? Sure down the road they may be out of good licenses and stuck with old tables that is hard sells at any price but what would prevent them from making their own licenses. Imagine if it could go the other way around. Timeshock I would love to see as a real table. Same for big race USA. Never quite warmed up to Fantastic Journey. That is the competition TPA should go for I feel not the zen pinball stuff.

I suspect there's still plenty of life ahead for The Pinball Arcade. I don't know how fast they're growing, but it would seem from the continued enthusiasm in these fora that they still have a solid user base that is still willing to shell out for new tables. And, there is definitely a pipeline of highly requested tables for them to choose from. Of course, only FarSight's executive team knows the true financials of the situation. They could shut down new development on The Pinball Arcade tomorrow. But, from what limited outsider knowledge that I have, I would guess the chances of that are quite remote. I believe their intention is to make it up to about 100 tables, and as long as it's profitable for them to do so, I don't see why we wouldn't get up to about that many. As long as they continue to make them, I'll get them.

TPA will end when:

  • TPA is no longer profitable.
  • FarSight's management wishes to pursue other ventures to the extent that there are no longer sufficient resources to continue developing TPA. (Orbals isn't nearly big enough to qualify.)
  • The community manager who reads the Facebook page finally succumbs to the maddening whispers of the dark elder gods and shoots up the place.
There are no indications at the present time that any of the above are imminent.

It ends when it ends.

Why worry about tomorrow when you have today to deal with?

Worrying about it seems like a waste of time to me.

I'd say its when/if we ever get Addams Family...because then there would be no other reason to make any other tables. We would have the holy grail.

Addams Family is a fun table but it doesn't replace all other pinball tables.

Welp, TPA is putting food on FarSight employee's tables so I would venture a guess to say you're probably safe for a bit

Hopefully FS has furtureproofed their recreations, scanning at extra high resolutions ect.... so that when we're all on 4K screens and holographic projectors we'll still get some pinball goodness.

You know perhaps if they go through a lot of the really loved tables they can make original digital pinball tables (like Zen) while also focusing on the lesser known tables or the machines with a cult following

They have to make Family Guy, Rescue 911, Freddy: Nightmare On Elm Street, Safe Cracker, and The Wizard of Oz for me before they quit, oh and Indiana Jones: Pinball Adventure, and Addam's Family. Plus a few more, then they can stop making pinball games, those are my dream wishes. I will also include The Party Zone, Jurassic Park, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Twister, Banzai Run, Jokerz, Fire!, The Getaway: High Speed 2, Monopoly, High Roller Casino, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Comet, Cyclone, Hurricane, Lord Of The Rings, Elvis, Corvette, Baby Pacman, Granny's Gaters, Demolition Man, Tales From The Crypt, The Who's Tommy, Baywatch, The Flinstones, Spiderman, Tron Lagacy, Wheel Of Fortune, Big Buck Hunter Pro, The Hobbit, and I know theirs many more I forgot, but that should be enough to hold you guys over, let's make it happen Farsight someday before you stop making Pinball Machines. Again these are only my dream games, some will make it, while others probably won't, here's hoping they all do someday.

This. The pool from tables to choose from is still enormous at one a month.
