to all of you who say "report the bug it will get resolved" or whatever... this is not necessarily true.. I mean farsight shipped black knight on ps3 the way it is and pretty much ignore comments about it being trash.. even bobby king in an intervie was like whatever man....

Constructive criticism doesn't appear to have much effect either. I spent ages documenting everything that I could find wrong with BK - comparing it to my own BK and the any I have played over the years. Months later and nothing has been fixed (actually one tiny bug over a lamp animation was dealt with) or even acknowledged as being worth repair.

FS's claims of preserving these games digitally starts to ring a bit hollow after a while when he quality of tables, particularly on PS3, is so wildly variable and prone to being randomly broken by different builds.

The bottom line for me is, bringing down the morale of FarSight will hurt this project more than it will help it. If anyone wants this project to fail, then by all means keep posting the unconstructive posts and ultimatums.

I back FarSight 110% because if this project fails, we'll never see anymore licensed real world tables released (by any developer) that we can play on pretty much any platform or device we like. Please think about that before you decide how you're going to construct your feedback.

While I wouldn't want to see the whole forum be filled with rants, I do understand the frustration. I think FarSight should know how frustrated even their fans are getting. Bottom line to me is that my family and I are having fun playing. We are but restarting when the game locks up and avoiding some tables because they've become so much less fun than others is making it harder to have fun playing TPA.

I used to play FPS games with a fun clan of older guys and after another update that added even more bugs to our favorite modes, one of our guys said "I'm getting tired of trying to make this game fun!"

I'm hoping I don't get tired of trying to make playing TPA fun. The fun should be built in. We should just have to play it to have fun.

Even die hard fans stop cheering after their team fumbles the ball every possession, its one thing to root for the team but to turn a blind eye because your such a fan is ridiculous.

I completely understand everyone's frustration, but the right way is to post what specifically about the game frustrates you (so FarSight can address your concerns) and leave the appropriate feedback on how this may affect your decision to further support The Pinball Arcade if issues aren't corrected. Merely posting what was in the OP doesn't help FarSight in any way and brings down morale.

I think that the missing link that would help the frustration would be better feedback from FarSight. Most of our communication is just one way. We report the issues. If there was more communication coming back to us saying that they're working on this list of issues and the next update will address this list of issues, I think you'd see overall frustration levels drop. It would also be more satisfying for those that have reported issues to see them acknowledged and worked on.

They get enough ranting on FaceBook don't you think?? These forums is where common sense and reason are to be found. If you want to troll FarSight go to Facebook and do it , no one here will know it's you unless your avatar and forum names are similiar . Do you know why we get more feedback from the devs? here on this forum? It's because we believe these guys will eventually work out the bugs and they will work hard to make the game better and better .It's not going to happen the speed we would like it to , but every patch with fixes proves they keep trying . It's a small independent studio , small staff , limited resources . They have their limitations about what they can do , without it affecting the entire game , so they are limited in what they can fix without causing other problems .
If you think they prefer the "whip over the sugar cube " then you're wrong, FarSight will not improve their game because of threats , they WILL however bust their ass for their fans and supporters .

I kind of agree in a way. Might not have been the best way to say it but I think they should know that if they keep up the quantity over quality development habits they are causing customers to walk.
I really do love the game but the bug situation is getting a little out of hand. I would say Black Hole was perfect and somehow they went back and broke some of that.
From the comments they make they seem satisfied with the condition some of these tables are in. Like Black Knight ... The Scripting on it isn't good, the balls are flying through objects and appearing elsewhere flippers are off, art is a total mess and we got zero comments from them for months. We finally got a we are looking into it, but to me that sounds like they didn't think or know there was a problem with the table. If they just came out and said we know it's a bit of a mess and we are in the process of fixing things I would be happy. Not knowing if we are just going to be stuck with the issues we have is a scary idea to keep throwing money at. I just want assurance they won't stick me with a broken product.

It's been shown that they won't necessarily address concerns though.. The issues with Black Knight are gigantic in my view... the lights are off, the sound is off and the table looks BAD. Farsight has not addressed this issue ONCE. They turned a classic into a clunker, and should be ashamed of themselves... I'm not talking about some niggling bug that was missed but the product itself is no bueno...

I agree with you 100% that Black Knight on the PS3 is an oversaturated mess. Mike Reitmeyer has started a few threads acknowledging issues they are addressing on a few tables, but hasn't done so for all tables. I would also like to see more communication from FarSight acknowledging bugs that have been reported and possibly giving us time frames for updates that will fix them.

That would be great. Think more communication would help a lot. Even something like a somewhat detailed set of patch notes I think would help us to appreciate the work they are doing. To have a firm idea of what they are still doing to improve the product.

Just keep in mind every minute spent on communication with us is a minute not spent actually fixing the issues within the game. I was a developer myself; I know how precious a resource time can be...and judging from Ryan's comments in the Android forum, I don't think FarSight has very much of it to spare.

I'm not saying increased communication would be a bad thing - several bugs have been squashed quickly because of developer/player discussion on these forums - but I think everyone should be aware there is a tradeoff that will have to be made to get what we're asking for.

i have plead my case in a Respectfully way both when first table pack came out and recently in email only and get not much of a response.

some of you fellow pinball fans think there is nothing wrong even if i put the list right here i will get ignored so no dice, some of you guys care more about default scores being off and trophies more then real problems which puzzles me, i don't see FS responding to anything at all here anyway (BK is not priority BUT i can do texture art like this quite fast so can they :/ ), medieval madness is still a mess and i am exhausted from saying it and have no word but new tables from them, and updates are not patches.

its not about money ill pay 10$ for twilight zone if i have to but if a list of large problems prevent me from playing favorite tables like MM i get upset and frustrated and it sits gathering dust until we make it completely clear we need a patch that we don't seem to be getting at all, not to mention zero communication from FS about them.

they've spread themselves too thin supporting too many platforms. From a selfish point of view, I'd like to see them drop support for the non core platforms, get everything working and then look to grow platform support once the company has grown, processes and product matured.

In reality I guess it's too late for this.

I really empathise with the posters comments, as it had got to the point where you expect game-breaking bugs in every update. Recently though since the HD / Taxi update (on ios at least) things have been a lot better, but still not perfect (which is understandable).

I may empathise but I don't believe in dissing Farsight outright. I'm not for kissing their arse either (some of these bugs should never have made it into final releases).

Two tables for the price of a pint? Bargain!! (bugs or not).

Forums are for feedback and opinions, both positive and negative. Some of us are pissed off and others are happy ...... deal with it. This game has massive potential, but for some of us it is riddled with enough bugs to keep us from playing (minor annoying bugs + massive input lag). Some don't mind the bugs, others can't stand them. Just because people are expressing negative feedback doesn't mean they are trolling FS. It seems more like you are trolling people that don't agree with your opinions. I love this game, but I refuse to play it because it's just too frustrating at the moment. I play games for fun. If a game isn't fun anymore I'll stop playing, but I'll still post my opinions simply because I paid money for this product and I want it to work properly. If this game continues on the path it is on now all of the negative feedback will stop simply because nobody will be playing. When this happens you can have your cake and eat it too ........ no more trolling and the only score you will have to compete with is your own. I wish you luck on your quest ;)

I play very regularly on iOS and the PS3, and while yea, something wonky occasionally happens, I have yet to encounter anything game breaking or something that would make me stop playing. But anyone who's played actual tables can tell you, plenty of things go wrong on those. That's pinball. Even if you watch Bowen Kerins tutorials, sometimes the machine does something strange (NGG comes to mind). I have A list titles for the PS3 that crash reguraly, but i still manage to enjoy them (Fallout 3, I'm looking at you) Sometimes one of my cars acts up, but I don't vow to never drive again until cars never break. I would say my biggest complaint at the moment is the look of the Black Knight table.

I stand in support of FarSight and it's game , I make a positive effort to note the bugs I find and log them here , anybody who thinks that adding stress to FarSight by being hyper critical is a better way than mine , will find me always ready to disagree . If they have more trolls than fans , then they might as well pack up and sell the company to a bigger company like EA or Activision, who will give it much less priority and probably kill it after a year. So rather than inducing more headaches ? act supportive , you're either part of the soloution or part of a problem , choose which one.

There are good people making this game , with familys to support , and your posts attacking the game is a slap in the face , and could get someone fired , Im pretty sure you dont want that , not if you really are a fan of the game . Im not saying dont complain or report the bugs , Im saying be more respectful in how you do it .
This is my favorite casual game ,and Im going to support it as long as they keep making new content .
