If you've ever worked in the software industry, you know just how laughable your statement is. Any remotely professional software company keeps track of all that stuff in pretty fine detail.

And yet FarSight does seem to have some difficulty with it at times. And although it isn't anything as bad as it was in the past--there was that one patch fiasco where something not ready for launch slipped out and broke the game (was that one one where you couldn't see DLC tables anymore? I forget, but something bad)--they're still letting half-done features slip out now and then, like the blank menu space we had for a while. Their version control is not great.

A larger company would have someone who specializes in submitting completed DLC and patches. It wouldn't be the only thing that person does but it would be a significant part of their responsibilities. In that respect FS doesn't have as much oversight into version control. However, Sony doesn't let them just submit new DLC with a title and price and nothing more. Everything that's contained in each packet released to the PSN store is listed in an accompanying manifest. A small company like FS can easily track their version changes and DLC just with the files that they have to keep up with for submissions.

I'm not sure what bugs in the final product have to do with version control. Happens to all companies that they submit something that doesn't work like they planned.

The bugs I was talking about seemed to me more like parts of things they were working on that slipped out unintentionally, that's what they would have to do with version control. That is, of course, just my own opinion based on what I've observed.

Yeah, but the people that answer the questions on Facebook are not the same people doing version control. Of course the developers have documentation somewhere but that doesn't mean its always readily available to everyone in the company. If the folks answering the questions from the outside get confused once in a while I'm not going to condemn them as being completely unprofessional. In any business the customer service and sales people (and even management) often don't have the intimate familiarity with the product details the same way that the developers and designers do.

Farsight is clearly stretching their resources further than they should.

They have too many ports and none of them end up getting the special attention they deserve.
So ports like the PS3 just get lost in the shuffle...sort of like the Octomom's children.

So, September? The approval process is about 5-6 weeks. Seems like it would be in line for the September update and new tables.

I don't see why it would take that long for a bug fix.

IIRC it only took them 4 days to fix the "ball slowdown with 1080p" last year.
They found/fixed the bug on a Tuesday, and we had the fixed version on Saturday.

That's how this should have been done. They already announced that they knew the cause of it and it was to be addressed last month, but that never happened.... 120+ days to fix something like this is just plain disheartening.

They really seem to be dropping the ball when it comes to the PS3 version. I really thought by now we would have fixes for most of the problems, online play, lighting options ("day/night slider"), stereoscopic 3D, BG music options.

They are not treating this problem as a game ending issue.

It's, in my opinion, more serious than the slowdown issue.
At least with that problem you could easily fix it by switching to 720p output.

A pinball game with broken Leaderboards WAS a game ender for me.
I haven't played it in weeks, nor have I bought any packs (up until then I purchased every single DLC the second they hit PSN and played it nighty with friends).

I know I'm not the only one who's passing on buying new DLC / Season Two Passes until this gets fixed.
My point being, Farsight could push the patch through faster if they chose to.

The PS3 version is the only port which is worse off now than it was last year.

Last year:
I could play comfortably without being forced to jam the shoulder buttons for 2 stage flippers.

I could post high scores to Facebook (what happened to this??)

It had a selection menu that, while admittedly wasn't the best, looked like it belonged on a console and not a SMART PHONE.

*there was something else too, but I have forgotten what it was ATM. If I remember I will add it here.*

I'd have to argue that the xbox is much worse off than it was last year. :p

I switched to PS3 triggers to get past the 2-stage flipper... much less noticeable. The menu system and backglass art seems a terrible low resolution for a console.

Does anyone have a copy of the latest info on this?
I remember it being posted in another forum, but I can't seem to locate it.
