I wonder how much of a difference it would make that a lot of the Simpsons staff are pinball fans - if you listen to simpsons/futurama dvd audio commentaries they will quite often reference pinball and also mention that they have some games in their office...

I'm going to go ahead and guess no one working on the show has anything to do with licensing anything related to the show, since why would they really. If some of the individual voice actors are fans that might help with their individual voice rights licenses, but I'm guessing the legal/marketing departments of whoever owns that stuff again (Fox?) does and decides everything related to licensing the show stuff itself.

I mod the Simpsons tapped out forum, and I will say that the licensing for that game is ridonkulous. They can only add voices for characters voiced by the 6 main voice actors, and only 3 of them voice more than 5 people. And to get that license in the first place, you need to be a game giant like EA.

As opposed to the Family Guy game, which is made by Tiny co, and that is literally their only noteworthy game. They include every voice actor, no matter how minor their role, and I believe they do so by taking voice clips from the show instead of having to hire the voice actors. Also I think the in game dialogue is produced by the same writers from the show. Whereas the in game dialogue in the Simpsons, is not the same quality as the show. (The show is generally written by Harvard grads.)

Both games are co produced by FOX digital entertainment, but Family Guy builder is a lot newer, and seems to have learned from the mistakes with the Simpson's builder. (Mainly, not getting in bed with EA.) Still though their is a lot less content in Family Guy, as their is in Simpsons, and occasionally the Simpsons game will update content that coincides with an episode. So I can't say say which is better overall.

But regardless, I believe Farsight has a lot better chance at getting a Family Guy license than a Simpsons license. I would aim for the Family Guy pinball first, and maybe if we're lucky, FOX digital will get jealous, and then we'll get the Simpsons pinball.
