How about a second pinball game from FarSight?

Wouldn'tit be nice to have a second pinball game with the same physics engine but with new designed tables? Should be even better if the tables can be designed by some of the designers that worked for Williams, Bally and Gottlieb in the past...

I'd be more interested in a second game that emulated the newer tables that the mobiles can't handle. : D

I'm not super-excited about new digital only tables or a construction set, but I suppose there could be some hope if they could get some of the great designers...still I'm concerned that they'd be unable to resist starting to do things like teleporting the ball and flying characters around the screen and throwing sparks in your face and all sorts of silly stuff that really have nothing to do with pinball.

That would also be disappointing. It should be as real as a real table can be. Teleporting is done pretty well in ST TNG by the way. It would be very cool if the original designers are involved in the process. Imagine they would actually built a real prototype that FS can digitize :)

I never checked who is working where and who is still alive, but I think it is a nice option to have the original designers back in business.

Part of me wonders if they will use old pinball licenses to make new digital tables. e.g. Pinbot, Elvira. Particularly I think a third Elvira table from Farsight is inevitable if they start doing original tables, given how chummy they are with her.

I think it would be fun to turn loose any names they can land on a construction set but a couple things occur to me-

Why wouldn't FS work in conjunction with say Stern for example to sell them the good ideas to make into real tables. Basically just switch around the chicken and the egg.

A "high end" version of TPA should be considered but at the end of the day, construction set will lead to users wanting some sort of easy way to distribute their own tables and put FS up against a million competitors so their somewhat conflicting goals.
It also seems unbelievable to me that FS is anywhere close to running out of "real tables" they could digitize profitably.

I'd argue it makes more sense to offer Stern and JJP R.apid A.pplication D.esign services that comes with a built in testing user base to give brutally honest feedback.

All that aside, just sell the originals like any other table pack and let them stand on their own merits.

If Farsight is "running out" of tables to digitize then they obviously aren't paying attention to our message board, or other message boards on the internet.

Which reminds me to start my all encompassing thread today. Look for it in the unreleased section of the sight.

It's not me but people (customers) want DMDs and multiball with big jackpots. There aren't many real tables left which have that. Many of the remaining are big brand licenses.

Before Stern listens to Farsight Farsight will have to provide some popular tables.

Popadiuk and Lawlor are still alive and might be willing to contribute. Popadiuk is actually designing pinball tables.
