UPDATE Table Add-On Pack #14 Pushed Back To Late May Plus Season Table Packs Coming Soon!


• Table Add-On Pack #14 featuring Centaur and Pin•Bot has been pushed back to late May to implement new features and home menu tweaks.

• Season Table Packs will be available for purchase in the next Android, iOS, Kindle Fire, Mac and OUYA updates. Season One Table Pack allows you to purchase the four core tables plus Table Add-On Packs #1 - #10 (for a total of 22 tables) at a discounted price. Season Two Table Pack allows you to purchase Table Add-On Packs #11 - #20 at a discounted price as well. More detailed information on Season Table Packs and possible availability on other platforms to follow.

• New features, home menu tweaks and minor table fixes coming in the next Android, iOS, Kindle Fire, Mac and OUYA updates. I’m hoping to post full details on what’s included in the upcoming updates before release.

• The next Title Update for PS3/PS Vita (NA/EU) should be released by the end of June and will include assets for Table Add-On Pack #13 featuring Space Shuttle/White Water (now scheduled for release in early July) and Table Add-On Pack #14 featuring Centaur/Pin•Bot (still scheduled for release by mid July).

• FarSight has addressed the low framerate issue on the PS Vita version of Dr. Dude and will include a fix in the next Title Update due out by the end of June.

• Links to gameplay videos of Centaur and Pin•Bot have been added to the tables chart.

• There’s no new information as of late on the statuses of the Xbox 360 publishing issues (which are still being worked through by FarSight) or PC and Wii U release time frames.

UPDATE SNEAK PEEK At Upcoming iOS Version 1.2.8 Update...COMPLETE Changelog BELOW!


Here's a glimpse at what's included in the upcoming iOS version 1.2.8 update due out by the end of May!

Below is the official changelog as it will appear in the itunes app store description of The Pinball Arcade under "What's New in Version 1.2.8".

What's Fixed:
- Settings were not saving when leaving options and table options menus.
- Dead zone for launcher button in Star Trek: The Next Generation was where the button used to be in 1.2.6.
- Pausing while playing Star Trek: The Next Generation would cause the launcher button to pulse even when it wasn't available.
- An onscreen keyboard would appear when the iCade option was enabled and no bluetooth keyboard was connected.
- There were no arrows on some menus in portrait where they were needed.
- Space Shuttle's backbox display was upside down for player 1.
- Fliers were not properly sized on iPhone/iPod 5 in landscape.

UPDATE Updated News Straight From Pinball Arcade Newsletter #15 Plus Updates On the PC and Wii U Versions!


• Table Add-On Pack #14 featuring Centaur and Pin•Bot was released this past Friday for Android, iOS and Kindle Fire. It should also be available on Mac and OUYA soon and PS3/PS Vita (NA/EU) by mid July.

• iOS version 1.2.9 is AVAIALBE NOW! and fixes the following issues : crash for iOS 5.1.1 users at startup, potential crash related to save game files for all users and HUD on The Machine : Bride of Pin•Bot and Fun House.

• Season One and Season Two Table Packs are AVAILABLE NOW! on Android, iOS, Kindle Fire, PS3 (NA) and PS Vita (NA). They should also be available on Mac, OUYA, PS3 (EU) and PS Vita (EU) soon. NOTE : Anyone who purchases the Season Two Table Pack or Season Two Pro Pack that has also purchased Table Add-On Packs #11, #12, or #13 can email customer support@pinballarcade.com for a credit equal to the price you paid for the individual table packs, good for anything FarSight sells (now or in the future).

• Wii U : FarSight had delayed the Wii U version to implement the ability to purchase Season Table Packs and will be submitting the build to NOA and NOE for approval shortly.

• PS4 : FarSight will be included a part of Sony’s booth at E3 this year and they will be showing an enhanced version of Star Trek : The Next Generation running on the PS4 with next gen real-time lighting and reflections.

• Xbox 360 : FarSight continues to work with the bankruptcy court and Microsoft to determine the best course of action for The Pinball Arcade and their customers. They are getting closer to a solution and will be offering discount packs for all of the great tables they’ve released over the past several months.

• PC : FarSight is currently working hard to make sure the PC beta is as bug-free as possible and are shooting for a mid-late June release for the beta.

• Pinball Arcade Newsletter #15 has been sent out by FarSight to all subscribers. The text-only format of Newsletter #15 has been posted in the Newsletters sections of the front page of the forum.

• Hint for Table Add-On Pack #15 : After being told that he was going to be Table of the Month, the normally cool Dr. Dude spun out the front door to the local tavern. Can you guess which two tables will be in Table Pack 15?

UPDATE Bobby King Confirms Upcoming Terminator 2 : Judgment Day Kickstarter In Geekenstein's "In The Lab With Farsight's Bobby King"!


Geekenstein recently launched their audio interview series "In The Lab" where none other than FarSight's own Bobby King was one of the first guests to be featured in the series. Topics range from how FarSight refined their physics engine over the years up to their recent preparation for their next Kickstarter project which will feature Terminator 2 : Judgment Day. UPDATE PAF Top Ten Most Wanted Table Poll Series Featuring Williams, Bally, Gottlieb/Premier And Stern/Data East/Sega BEGINS JUNE 9, 2013!!!


We here at Pinball Arcade Fans will be hosting our very own Top Ten Most Wanted Table Poll Series that will feature 180 carefully selected tables in six different categories of which only 60 will be voted by the pinball community as the Most Wanted Tables for Seasons Three and Four of The Pinball Arcade. We are providing a platform for you all and putting the spotlight on these polls, so now is the time to voice your opinion and let FarSight know which tables you'd like to see in the next two seasons.

First and foremost, these polls will be run exclusively by the Pinball Arcade Fans Forum and are not official FarSight Studios polls.

The series will run from June 9, 2013 to August 31, 2013 with each of the six blind polls (which will feature 30 tables each) running for two weeks. The current poll standings will be visible for 24hrs. mid way through each active poll, after which, the poll standings will be hidden once again for the remainder of the entire poll series. Voters will be restricted to 10 choices per poll, so choose wisely. The Top Ten Most Wanted Tables selected in each category will be revealed on Friday September 6, 2013 and will collectively represent the 60 Most Wanted Tables as voted by the pinball community.

There will be links to gameplay videos and playfield pics for each and every table represented in this series, so take your time and check out some of the tables you may have never seen or heard of before you make your 10 choices for each poll. Remember, you will have two weeks for each poll to make your choices, so no need to rush.

UPDATE Terminator 2 : Judgment Day Kickstarter LAUNCHED!...Xbox 360 Add-ON Content RESUMES Late Summer!...PC/Steam And Wii U Releases Time Frames REVEALED!...PLUS MORE!!!


Terminator 2 : Judgment Day Kickstarter : FarSight has officially launched their Terminator 2 : Judgment Day Kickstarter Project. The licenses will cost $66,000 (and that’s just for the licenses. FarSight will cover all of the development expenses themselves). Thanks to the amazing generosity of pinball fans throughout the world, FarSight’s previous Kickstarter project for the Star Trek : The Next Generation pinball table raised $7,000 more than they needed for the licenses and they’re applying this towards the license costs of Terminator 2 : Judgment Day. If they can raise the remaining $59,000, they’ll be able to digitize Terminator 2 : Judgment Day and preserve one of the greatest pinball tables of all time. If they don't reach their goal, no credit cards will be charged, but if they raise more then the goal, they’ll be able to digitize other licensed tables as well, including the next table they’d really like to pursue...Bally's incredible classic The Addams Family!

OUYA : OUYA version 1.2 featuring Centaur, Pin•Bot, White Water and Space Shuttle is AVAILABLE NOW! The official June 25th launch of the OUYA console is fast approaching, and The Pinball Arcade will be ready! It will be a launch title for OUYA with all of the current Table Add-On Packs available.

PC/Steam : Since their Steam Greenlight several months ago, FarSight has been hard at work creating a Steam version of The Pinball Arcade. The first Beta build of the Steam platform was recently released to internal test at FarSight Studios! They will be conducting a closed public Beta of the Steam version in July. If you are one of the Kickstarter backers entitled to Beta access on the PC platform, watch your email for information on how to get access! FarSight is targeting an August release for The Pinball Arcade on Steam with all of the current Table Add-On Packs available.

The PC version will be using Directx 9 when released which doesn't support all the features FarSight would like it to. They will hopefully be adding Directx 11 support for the PC version, however even if they don't, some of the features that they want to add are possible in DirectX 9. Not everyone has video cards that support Directx 11 so this solution is better for everyone at release time. Also, even though it won’t be implemented at launch, dynamic lighting will make its way to the PC version.

PlayStation 4 : Fans got an early look at the PlayStation 4 version of The Pinball Arcade at the E3 show in Los Angeles. FarSight was part of the Sony booth, and the game was amazingly well-received by pinball aficionados and novices alike. FarSight’s new PS4 lighting technology allows them to model individual lights for each of the 100+ lamps on the typical pinball table (complete with attenuation, blooms, and reflections). The result so far is a level of graphical realism never before seen in a video pinball game and it's going to get even better as they continue to improve the technology! Check out THIS video for a sneak peek. In more good news, Sony has announced a Cross Discount feature for the PS4. This will allow FarSight to offer customers who have previously purchased Pinball Arcade content on other Sony platforms a discount when they buy that content on PS4.

Wii U : The Beta build of the Wii U Pinball Arcade release will enter internal test next week at FarSight Studios. It is scheduled for final submission to Nintendo in late July and for release to customers in September. All of the tables in Table Add-On Packs #1 through #16 will be available on the Wii U at launch.

Xbox 360 : As most of you know, FarSight has been unable to release new table packs for the Xbox 360 since their Microsoft publisher declared bankruptcy last year. They finally had some good news to report - the publisher (Fillpoint/Crave Entertainment) has now filed a reorganization plan with the court and is scheduled to emerge from bankruptcy this summer. When this occurs, FarSight will submit all of the unreleased table packs to Microsoft for approval and release. They plan to offer discounted Season Packs on the 360 to make it easy for 360 customers to get caught up on tables. FarSight thanks everyone for their patience as they’ve worked to get this issue resolved - it’s been as frustrating for them as it’s been for everyone else!

Pinball 2000 Tables : Regardless of more powerful consoles getting ready to hit the market later this year, FarSight is not looking to digitize these tables as the implementation just doesn't really make sense to them at the moment.

- Videos option on the main menu. Users can now purchase the ability to stream The History of Pinball to their device.
- New button "Download Owned" has been added to Manage Tables menu. This option will download all tables that the user owns and has not yet downloaded. The user has the ability to skip a download or cancel the process midway.
- The version number of the application is now displayed at the bottom of the Options menu (the free version of the app is suffixed with an 'F').
- Entitlements bound to the user's FarSight account are now refreshed when the app starts and when the app is loaded from the background (logging out and back in is no longer required to update entitlements).
- The name of a download in progress is now displayed for the user's convenience.
- Users can now listen to their own background audio when the sound option is turned off in the Options menu.
- New Table of the Month: Dr. Dude Pro.

- The app would sometimes crash when locking the device or returning to the app after it was interrupted (home button, phone call, etc.) during gameplay.
- The app would crash if ball control was activated, the table was started and exited, and then the Options menu was accessed from the Main Menu.
- The transition from completing standard to unlocking wizard goals would sometimes fail.
- The transition from completing wizard goals to unlocking additional options would sometimes fail.
- Goals earned while in the middle of gameplay would be lost when minimizing the app or locking the device.
- Diagonal touch nudges have been scaled down to have the same magnitude as orthogonal touch nudges.
- The app would no longer be able to rotate after performing the "Update All" operation in the Manage Tables menu.
- Some tables would appear as "vs" in the Manage Tables menu due to residual temporary files.
- The flipper rubbers were missing from Tales of the Arabian Nights.
- Call attendant on Centaur would move the ball from the Queen's Chamber.

UPDATE Terminator 2 : Judgment Day Kickstarter Update #1 : Almost 25% of the way there!


We're a week into our Terminator 2 Kickstarter and we're already nearly 25% of the way to making the goal! Thank you everyone for your generosity!

We've been getting questions about why we chose to do the Terminator 2 table next (instead of the Addams Family table, or something else). Aside from the fact that T2 is an awesome table, we have a unique opportunity with T2. The licenses we need for Terminator 2 are NOT easy to get. We can acquire them but it must be done NOW. We can't go into detail about the particulars but if we don't act soon the opportunity will be lost, and it might be quite some time (if ever!) before we'd be able to put this together again.
