Loving tournament mode.

I'm really enjoying tournament mode, have played quite a few hours since the latest tournament started. It's a great way to get you playing tables you may not play so much anymore, hell it's even got my playing Big Shot!. The inclusion of a small prize for the top 100 ( a custom ball ) gives something to aim for even though if I win one I will probably never use it.

I hope they add a lot of opportunities to set up our own custom tournaments, I.e. choose tables, password entry etc, they did say this was possible in an earlier thread. It would be great to have a tournament for members of this forum.

Don't worry, the ball won't be exclusive. You will be able to purchase it later on like all the other things. Just like the TZ and STTNG balls were going to be exclusive to the higher kickstarters.

Apparently I can't take the pressure. I don't feel like I'm under any duress, but while I play in tournament mode, I can only hit dividers, ball draining spot targets, go up ramps only half way... I just suck when it counts I guess.

Don't feel too bad, it was the same way for me when I played in a league...only there were 3 other players each game there to witness the atrocities.

I ve never played black hole so much. I actually liked it for the first time and now i might buy it because of the same reason. It adds a nice layer of fun the tournament mode

If you haven't spent any time in tournament mode I highly recommend you give it a try before the current tournament ends. I've spent many hours trying to improve my position. currently I'm 38th but as the day goes on more and more people will move ahead of me so ill have to play some more if I want to Improve or hold my position. Can't wait until we can set our own up. Just hope they don't ruin it with the pay model they are going to introduce.

That would ruin it for me. I'm not that good, so there's no point paying to be in a tournament I'm never going to win. It might be worth it to get to play tables you don't own for free, but as I've got them all except BH, there's no incentive there.

Ia assume the pay model will let you pay after a new pb? You posibly buy blocks of 10 games? Which you can use as credits for offical scores?

Thats my thinking still havent played in this tourney and with about 24 hours to go...i want my custom skin ill never use it but still

Well, I for one am glad they let me try this out for free. Now I know for sure I can't take the pressure of a tournament and it didn't cost me a dime to find that out. I just got through playing 3 tables, I kept yelling at my screen, missing simple shots, and now my palms are all sweaty. It's been so long since I've played TotAN and ToM, I'd forgotten how evil those slingshots are.

You will not have to pay to play in tournament mode...at least not for your first few entries. Bobby didn't specify to me how many free entries you'd actually get per tournament, but it seemed like it'd be at least a few. The idea is that when you commit to doing your entry, that's your shot, give it your best. Fun is kinda ruined if you can attack the same table over and over again. Should you wish to do that though, that is where the paying comes in. My guess is this is going to follow the 'free to play' model of most mobile games, where if you really want to just push your way through, you're gonna be charged.

I'm cool with it. I think there should only be one entry per tournament personally. Isn't that how a real life tournament would be?

Minium charge on iap on ios is 69p i woudnt pat that per score

I agree real tourneys are one shot deals itd never work on a digital platform

Lol. I like how it's making me play tables I otherwise wouldn't.

There's no way I would pay for more tournament plays, as much fun as it is I see no point paying for more tries, it's not like there is a real trophy.

I was 89th yesterday and now I'm 105th. The pressure!! My two weak tables are TOTAN and RBION.

Anyone have any tips on how to get above 30 million on both those tables?

I'll never play in a tournament when people can just play again and again until they get their top scores. It should be a 1 shot thing. That way even the table God can have a bad game and Joe average can have a great game and win.
