yeah, I know. More than one. But still, LCA is fun, challenging and hard. One of those few Premiers worth playing. Unlike that CBW crap.

I remember how many people were mad when CBW was chosen over EBD, and then people seemed to enjoy the table anyway. I think maybe 3 people enjoyed LCA. The table is about as fun as Goin Nuts.

I think that percepition for games is different between people who spent tons of coins on real deal and now enjoying digital version and people who get hooked up on pinball with digital versions and are now looking for the real machines around.
And LCA vs CBW........... well, in one of the arcades I was wisiting regulary back in the 90's there were both tables and LCA was always taken while CBW was there only to hold drinks.

I like it too. The theme is a little all over the place but the shots are fun and it's a fair but challenging pin.

Last night I listened to an interview with the designer, Jon Norris. He said this table (the first system 3) allowed him to create a much deaper rule set that just wasn't available in system 80b. That's why there's so many ways to play it.

Do I want to go for EB's by shooting the right drops?
Do I want to complete all the cards by shooting the upper right spinner?
Do I want to start the "jackpot" scene by shooting the center targets?
Do I just want to go for multi ball by lighting locks off the left stand ups?

Sure, it's not perfect but you have to understand, at Gottlieb, designers had about two months to come up with a game. Not the year or more like at Williams. Also, unless there was a serious bug in the software, there were NO ROM revisions. Norris was a "rules" guy and he was not allowed to update code once the game was on the line just to tweak the rule set.

Sure brings things into a little more perspective as to the "well, why didn't they change this" attitude.

Also, it seems you can speed up the gunfight sequences IRL. According to Norris the game had software that would "learn" the player and adjust mode timers accordingly. Something I do not see on the TPA version. I have seen real life videos where the gunfight sequence was much faster. Wish they could implement this in TPA. In the "pro" settings maybe?

Did you guys forget about Harley Davidson 3rd edition? The key to enjoying this table is to have the volume ALL the way down, and to actually try to complete video mode for 35mil. Then it can actually be a blast. I only just found out that running over all the pedestrians is actually the goal. Whoda thunk? But it's not actually that surprising since that's how little I've played it. But recently it's been kinda fun going for patches, advancing towards Milwaukee, completing live to ride targets in order to light the next city, and doing the multiball modes. After a while of playing though, it doesn't feel as much like a shameless advertisement either.

Oh no, I didn't forget about HD. I just truly don't like it.

Looks like you're not alone on that. I'm sure you'll know this Fungi, and it might've been discussed at some point.... But WHY in the world did it get made in the first place? I don't remember it ever getting requested, although that was so long ago and it was one of the first to come out. Was it in the top 100 best pins back then? Also I'm very confused as to how they didn't pay up the a$$ for the licenses. And if they did, WHY???? But I still stand by my word that it can be fun (for me), and now I can get a perfect video mode every time. Kinda like ST:TNG. that's essential for collecting artifacts easily

Again, I'm just going to mention High Roller Casino and see how many people think similarly.

I hated that table at first but have really begun to enjoy it. Unfortunately I can't top my high score from my first game no matter what I do! It's week too, a little over 500,000,000. Terrible

Probably some. But for me, gambling makes it an automatic win :). Yeah, everything about it is pretty awesome. It's actually hard to come up with cons. And a loop that's kinda hard to hit doesn't count. Voice acting isn't the best, but at least it's funny!

I don't like HD but have come to like HRC a little more. Reasons? Four slingshots...and Keith Johnson rules.
