Ah, right. I was getting Classic confused with the home version, which I remember being called Classic and is very neutered. Still interesting they would put Fireball Classic on the poll, rather than Fireball as I remember Classic having different rules and people tend not to like it as much. Perhaps that means Fireball is already in the works? Regardless, Fireball II is actually my favorite of the lot.

Here's the breakdown :

Fireball - EM (Commercial) Did not make the Top 30 EM Tables Poll
Fireball - SS (Non-Commercial)
Fireball Classic - SS (Commercial) The table represented in this poll.

Remember, this is a Solid State only Poll.

Obviously the home version is the best. :p

The only one I've played IRL is the original and it was very brutal. At least it was set to five ball play.

Todd from TnT Amusements goes thru a Spectrum here: http://youtu.be/BilbwJJsRdk

Love that guy's channel. Lots of great little insights from someone who's been in the business forever, and knows his s**t. They do a really nice job on the pins that come through their shop... and their prices show it (probably worth it on some lower/mid $ level games, but still too rich for my blood, especially since shipping a pin is a ton of $ too).

Should Space Invaders really be on there? After the 20th Century Fox lawsuit, wouldn't this be harder to get than TAF?

Plus, the game sucks.

It doesn't matter how hard it will be to license. We're just picking our top 10.

Well, I just thought it would be better for this thing to give up its slot for another table that would be an easier get and suck less.

I notice Haunted House and Captain Fantastic aren't in this poll - should I draw any conclusions from these omissions?

Haunted House was Gottlieb I think. And maybe Captain Fantastic counts as a Premier Licensed table because Elton John's record company would own the rights to the name and images.

Haunted House is a Gottlieb machine. Captain Fantastic is an electromechanical.

Judge Dredd (1993) gets my vote x10, especially the prototype (test game) version with the DEADWORLD feature and the Space Station Robotic Arm (a magnetic crane) for activating Multi-Ball.

Better explained here.

The beauty of digitally converting the Judge Dredd table is you can have software options to emulate the different versions (i.e. Prototype Game or Production Game). ;)

Oh right, forgot Haunted House was Gottlieb - something about it just looks like Bally to me!

Surprised about Captain Fantastic being EM - isn't that a mid-late 70s machine? It looks like quite a classic playfield. Yeah I see Elton John is written all over it - I shouldn't imagine he'd want to stand in the way of that beauty getting some extra life though?

Yep, Captain Fantastic was either 1976 or 77. I've only seem EM versions of it. It's just around the change over. Evel Knievel came out a year or so later and is most commonly seen in its SS form.

I didn't think it would be too pricey. It's not like it plays 10 of his songs. But who knows what licensing costs? But it would have been in the EM poll if it was a possibility. Maybe it will show up in the premium/licensed poll?
