Playing TPA offline on Xbox 360

Hey, when I try to play TPA & not signed in on XBL, it just goes to sign in profile selection when I hit A button. Does this mean we can't play TPA unless online? That would suck!

Edit: okay, figured this out. I forgot that, unless you actually disconnect, physically, from the internet by unplugging the ethernet cable, the console is still online. Duh!
