Revision 1.2: Replaced original high score image (that could confuse which display is actually working) with text that gives more room for separate high scores.

New high score on Big Race USA

An early screenshot from the Big Race USA Ultra Edition? :) I'm running all four original games since more than 15 years on every PC I own. Works well up to Windows 10 using a CD emulation software. Only "The Web" need some special configuration to run in an actual enviroment. Every table has the original pre2000 game.dat file. Last serious game was more than 5 years ago.

Guys, may I ask a quick dumb question? Are the leaderboards for the Pro Pinball tables still maintained? If so, are players still upping their scores? If not, about when did they stop?

(I played a lot of Timeshock and Longest Journey, but not very well, when they were new. I think I may have submitted my scores but I'm not sure.)

The official pro pinball leaderboards are down since a long time. Here's the last screenshot that I own from my favorite timeshock at the end of 2001:

For exact dates I would browse a waybackmachine like https://archive.org

Here are the original links from my bookmarks:

and the Big Race USA Head2Head leaderboard URL: http://www.empire-interactive.com/propinball/brusa/admin/ladder

There's still a personal fan leaderboard here: http://www.tmt.at/ante/scores.phtml?count=10 You can post scores with the original score code from the games, so this should be a deal with the pro pinball development team.

"Best game to date (by only about 10 million points). Got 5 of the 6 requirements needed. The Big Race proved to be a flop for me; the Air Bag was no help whatsoever (darn it, let me drain unneeded balls!). Oh well. Next time, though."

EDIT: This video got flagged by a track called "Sunshine at Night." Used during the Big Race from 33:53 to almost 35 minutes in. Clearly, Youtube is messed up. Any advice on how to deal with this?

I think I read somewhere that they plan to revive the high score list once the ultra PC version is up and running.
May have been a request,... Or a dream.

The ultra versions all have the high score list already. It's been functioning since the release months ago on iOS and Android, and seems to work in the PC beta too.

I just realized that Barnstorm are also the guys who made the new Evel Knievel app. I guess that's probably consumed a lot of their time too. It's actually a highly rated app though (recently saw a glowing review for it on Touch Arcade) so at least it's helping to keep them afloat unlike other pinball developers who have wasted time on crappy apps... *cough* Orbals *cough* Brunswick Bowling *cough*

Anyone who thinks it's sensible to run an online pinball business and not bother about player score comparisons must be mad. Pinball Arcade fall into that category. Very heavily.

Some people don't just count table numbers.
I'd rather have a Porsche in my garage instead of 60 Fiat Panda.
Haha. Lol.

They also write a lot of the apps for UK TV networks game shows like The Chase, etc., plus they did the American Mensa Brain Test.

Having installed the Beta on my cabinet it really is like having a sex machine in the corner of the room. The attract mode alone I could look at for hours ;)
