It's early access, that's explained quite clearly in the notes on Steam, and controller support will be coming in a later build.

Hmm I can't get it to open in portrait view oh my cab. F11 full screens it, but it's just a sideways image

Elder I went back to check the Steam notes,all I can say is ,WHAT A BOOFHEAD I AM !!! for not reading the notes properly,i`m looking forward the progression happily.i shall give myself a knuckle sandwich !!!

Full screen portrait cab view

Built in. I just started it in portrait mode.Hit F11 to toggle full screen window. Had to modify some file to get the keys set up the way I want for my cab. But working great. Best pinball simulation so far.

DaPinballWizard Have you got this running in proper portrait (cabmode) by default ? As i dont get that or any options ,just the bad pinball arcade view

Must say, the portrait view is the best I know in digital pinball.
It's not really designed for cabs. DMD (=part of back box/glass) and the playfield are on one screen.
But yeah, works great for portrait! I can't complain.

Also, when you play in portrait, download a higher resolution, like 2560.
I think the default vertical resolution is 1080.

You have to rotate your screen in windows display settings before you start the game. Then it should work.

Yes. What he said. My cab was in portrait when I downloaded and installed the game. It might grab a different download depending on your screen setup you are in. Or, like he said it might know which mode you are in when starting the game. I did see something when the download started stating I was in portrait mode or something like that.
As for the keys. Just had to open some file and change the settings to what I wanted. Game is SWEET. Played for about 5 hours yesterday. Going to fire up the cab in a few minutes for more. Downloaded a backglass and have that up on my 2nd monitor. Looking good so far. When more views come out, look out.

Cab setup I have so far.

Flippers buttons = set for flippers
Buttons to the side of the flippers, left and right nudge
Start button = launch pinball
Green button under start button = 1-4 player start button, 1 press for 1 player 2 presses for 2 player .... So nice (no going into the menu to choose 2 or more players)
Launch button = magna save

Will probably modify it a bit more but seems to work for now.
It was easy to modify that file to adjust the keys to your setup. Don't let that stop you. It is an early build but glad to have it released now, instead of waiting for all the bells and whistles.

Yeah the game checks your screen setup (portrait or landscape) and resolution and downloads the appropriate image files.

And to change later, just set another resolution under settings "vertical resolution". it gets rather big quickly, for 4k vertical it's around 5 gig...

the game now downloads in the game install folder under \SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Pro Pinball Ultra\extra_data

Agreed....set it low and turn off the lights in the room! Awesome!

Make sure to bump the graphics up in the game settings. Looked nice before doing that, fantastic after.
