At the end of the day people are voting with thier wallets and the vote there is not looking good. You can silence people like me from speaking thier minds about these recent releases, but at the end of the day you're just hiding from the truth.

We're not trying to silence you. We're just saying that you've made your point plenty of times already and people are getting tired of you sounding like a broken record. Farsight has explained why they've released these Gottliebs (because they needed to renegotiate their licenses with the other manufacturers), so it was either we get Gottliebs or we get nothing. I'm pretty sure people would prefer these tables rather than no tables at all. We'll be getting other stuff again soon, so just hold your horses and chill.

Nothing? So like, Farsight doesn't have a contract with Stern that is unlimited?

Anyways. I hear you. Loud and clear. I've said my peace.

All I know is. If I'm taking one thing away from this, its a much higher appreciation for high quality classics like Gorgar and Firepower. And not to take great games for granted. It's really going to be a treat when we get another top tier release.

To be fair Mark, I can empathise. I'm not the greatest Gottlieb fan and like you, I'm itching for better things. That said, this Gottfest has me looking at, and playing pins I'd walk past in an arcade.

For me, it's adding to the enjoyment of Pinball as a whole plus, giving a better insight to pins of yesteryear

I was going to ask something in the same vein. If FS aren't able to work things out with WMS by December, I'd love to see a double Stern pack (*cough* High Roller Casino *cough* Lightning *cough*). For that matter, why not start dipping into the classic Sterns the next time a licensing snafu like this happens? As far as I'm concerned, once Lightning makes it into TPA, FS can take their sweet time with the Bally/Williams license...

I'm not bothered by the Gottlieb avalanche at all. For a game that advertised pins from four manufacturers, Williams and Bally seemed to take centre stage for a long time, with the other two ignored. This helps to fill one of those gaps. Anyway, I'm sure they'll want to start season three with a bang, and go back to their old ways. Variety is the spice of life :)

I just wish we'd see hell a lot more Stern, actually.

Actually, looking at the top in app purchases on itunes, the Stern Tables rank high. Well, I guess there is really only Ripleys ;)

Well obviously, on most platforms it's not possible to buy any other tables until you have bought RBION along with TOM, TOTAN and BH. :)

But still deserved, cause RBION is a really great table.

Do we know officially if they have been able to get the Williams/Bally licensing redone? Hopefully they don't run into any snags there.

Seems to be the case.

Also, Farsight is really taking the polls to heart, so most folks should be happy about that.

Thanks, Jeff. Great to know. You and Trap have any new insights on the Williams negotiation? Is it done already or are they still talking?

When it comes to FarSight and legal issues, one should never make assumptions, I've learned that much :p

And where is your hometown...

Cue Ball Wizard is pretty radi-cool, but all scoring is basically rivaled by the "Award Everything" random reward. And the fact that 9-ball half-billion can be rewarded as well.

Yeah, random scoring that outstrips what can be earned through normal methods skews the sense of accomplishment on a table, but I suppose I find the cue ball in the playfield to be a novel mechanic. I also think the ease with which one can get high scores and multi-ball makes it a good beginner table.

But what difference does it make where I grew up? Maybe I'm not following on that one...

Farsight will have to write those little description things so yeah, Farsight have pretty much confirmed El Dorado: City of Gold and Cue Ball Wizard.

As for the Gottlieb hate, I find it a little strange. I've really enjoyed the Gottlieb tables recently because they're such a contrast to the style of the Williams tables and remind me of the whole pot-luck thing that playing a table for the first time is all about.

Can't say I'm surprised. The whole WMS renegotiation made this the most likely candidate.
Williams renegotiation what what? Anything to do with Planetary Pinball?

Any reason a renegotiation would make things easier/harder/cheaper/more expensive to get in TPA?

No, they can only reproduce a certain number of WMS games at a time before they need to renew the license. That's why we've only seen Gottlieb/Premier games for the past few packs.

I'm starting to warm up to this increase in Gottlieb tables. They were always harder to find in arcades in my area-so it's nice to try them out and get more in-depth with them. But I do hope the WMS negotiations are going well, as I still want Diner, Fish Tales, and both High Speeds, not to mention some Bally gems.
