Upon closer inspection of Jared's token collection, I noticed the 2nd one stating "Bally Token-Pin". I wonder if Bally was intending to have more machines with this pay-out mechanism implemented.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were. Redemption machines were on the rise, between this, Pinball Circus, and Pin2000 right around the corner, I think they were scrambling to figure something new out. I wonder how far along they got in planning it to be a Monopoly machine before they had to shift gears. I've played on a whitewood of this, and there is no indication of it having anything to do with Monopoly at that stage.

My personal view is that this was as close as Bally wanted to get to the days of Bingo pins in the modern pinball era. I think it would be hard to make this format fresh given the same goal for each incarnation: get to the Red Letter feature to get a token.

The thirst for tokens made this a very difficult game for me to walk away from. I remember flicking the bird at C.A.N.D.Y when she infuriatingly said "have a nice day". Eff YOU! /me swipes game card...

x 20

Each Friday.

For about 8 months.

Here's Safecracker in motion, if anybody wants to see these two guys play it on YouTube. http://youtu.be/bD38cC7qqCA

..... WWWWOOOWWW is that a game-changer table!! :) (sorry i know 'game-changer' getting overused lately, but still... ;0) is true just from watching that. that would be a VERY fun one for tpa!! :) very interesting how it takes a more dedicated take to switching between the pinball and 'top' play, that isn't so repetitive as 'shoot the dog' ala junkyard... very tiresome stuff, that kind of thing!

Sorry that was the best looking video I could find, but trust me it is a fun and very interesting Pinball Machine. I love all the Pinball Designers, but Pat Lawlor to me seems to make the most interesting games. The only Pinball games we have left from Pat Lawlor are Banzai Run, Monopoly, Rollercoaster Tycoon, NASCAR (Grand Prix in Europe). Once we get S.A.M. Emulation working we'll be able to play Family Guy (My no. 1 Favorite, which got me into the adult cartoon), and CSi. I heard from Jersey Jack that Pat Lawlor is working on a non licensed game for him, Jack said he won't tell me what it is until he's finished, that it will be a very fun surprise.

I just wanted to post one more Pinball Machine, it would be nice to see this in Season 5, but it will probably need a Kickstarter, so check out Congo.
Seen it at the arcade 20 ago, never played though, what a mistake, on my wishlist now. Cirqus Voltaire, Whirlwind, Xenon, Gorgar, Star Trek NG, Yeah Buddy!! Everything else is pretty much gravy.

In terms of the licenses WMS machines remaining, I think The Shadow and Congo should be the next two to pursue. Then The Flintstones if we get that far. And that one has the advantage of being a license that people still recognise! When I first saw Congo, I had no idea it was a licensed machine...

Many, many hundreds of dollars were spent when I was about 15 earning these. Singles only shown: plenty were reinvested...

See that silver? Only one in every token tube. Boy did I have to work for that one... 😅

If this is next:

FarSight better get the token collecting tech sorted correctly: it's the cornerstone of this game.

There better be Vault Assault mode, and a way to select and use duplicate tokens to activate it. When you want to.

The backbox will have to be implemented as one massive Alpha Pane just as Scared Stiff was, and the camera angles should allow visibility of the DMD with HUD off.

This will be a challenging table to recreate.

And now that you've made that photo public, who wants to bet that the token in-game will appear with the same blemishes as in this photo? :p

I imagine Congo to be similar to BSD as far as licensing. Not exactly a hot commodity.

It's also my next "really want it" table.

For those that are far too young, that was a Spaceballs reference. You may now go about your business.
I remember watching Spaceballs in physics class in high school, when I was a senior. Why did it take so long for someone to make a full-blown Star Wars spoof? Or was there one before this?

No it doesn't. If it were HS2, it would be something about cars or police or the supercharger or some other actual reference to the table. Referencing Getaway in the form of a truck makes little sense.

Also, I still and always say Farsight wouldn't burn their two best remaining DMDs back to back, and I haven't been wrong on that yet. Doing something different with Safecracker makes more sense adjacent to Road Show. Getaway will show up in season 5.

whenever FS decides to do "SafeCracker", I hope they decide a little twist for it. Sorta like "JackBot" eh.;)

I'd like to see Congo, but it's near the middle of my list of licensed WMS left, below JMn, JD, WCS, Corvette, I500, DM, IJ, and maybe even DH and P*p*y* (since I've barely played them). Shadow is near the top though... I'd put JMn and I500 above it, but only because I've barely played those two. (I've played Congo a few times more than barely.)

There were a grand total of 9 people in the movie theater when I saw it.
