It says on the front page of the Kickstarter....near the bottom under the Risks and Challenges section. However, it warns that the date could be later if unforeseen problems arise.

I'm not seeing anything there that says August. Although this is a holiday weekend for us Americans, and I have been celebrating intensely...

Yeah no august dates there just good projection data, but the KS does give a tentative date of September. However with PS3 giving early access to tables for season 2 pass holders, maybe that is where the August idea has blossomed from :/

Unless they've already digitized it in thier spare time since they seem to already have the table. Then as soon as the kickstarter clears and paperwork is signed, they can push it into beta. Even then, August seem very optimistic.

Why would they work on the table if the kickstarter hasn't even reached it's goal, yet? They can't bank on that and spend too much work and money on it beforehand.

Yeah, that seems more than a bit presumptuous if it were the case, but I guess it would be sort of similar to how the Pro Pinball guys released the Timeshock demo before their kickstarter was complete.

Defiantly seems like the new beta tier has helped no end, who would have thought?....im even thinking of upping my pledge to it. In this case they should defo add another tier to raffle off the real machine once FS has finished it. Maybe a $2500 tier with 2 or 4 spaces????

Regarding the beta test, what platform is it on for current beta testers??

I wondered what platform(s) the beta's would be available for?

Currently I believe it's all done on ios. This being due to the ios submission taking longer than Android so the beta seems to get first release about 2wks prior to official store release.
Android (my platform) is almost submit and its in the store within a couple of hours, so Farsight put this together after ios, occasionally we've had a week and a half access to beta before official release but more often due to Ryan being seconded, it's been a day or 2 days prior to release.
You obviously won't get beta for console, and once PC gets going this will probably be the main development platform.
So my guess was PC and ios for future beta's. Android has been a bit neglected recently.

We've already flaunted the possibility of this, but there's a few things that stop it from being an option

1) Raffles are illegal in some parts of America, not least the WORLD where the kickstarter is getting money from.
2) They might need the table for future table problems.
3) The boss at Big Bear Lake doesn't want to let it out of his sights

How about a $1,000 tier where you pick any non licensed table you want digitized and they'll do it. :)

Today's announcement changes nothing for me, still not donating until I have the PC beta downloaded and running on my PC.

Then you won't be donating at all. The beta isn't coming till after the end of the kickstarter. They said end of July for the beta

I'm thinking that PC will be a future beta platform. This makes me really inclined to back the high tier, but I would like to know how it works currently?
I have iOS device (iPad) and from what I understand iOS is part of current beta testing?

iOS is a closed Public beta - this can be joined. More eyes are always needed according to current testers
Android is an open Public beta - I really hope this doesn't get closed because - Fragmentation, low testing times and more things
PC is a proposed closed Public beta - FS will need a pool of dedicated testers, so long as they realize it is more than just early access

No other platform is, afaik, capable of being a part of beta testing due to technological constraints. So no console testing outside of FS unless someone happens to have a dev console; even then ...

Typical of FS to not think through and thoroughly explain the new beta offer. I feel sorry for someone that isn't part of this forum and backs this tier assuming they can beta test the PS3 platform. Then again, there are currently only 14 backers for this new tier. So maybe most of those people frequent this wonderful site!

I'd consider backing at this level but need more information because $400 is a lot to throw down. Such as, if I chose iOS beta access would it be relegated to a couple of days before release (like Android) once the PC version is in full swing?

Well, the new backing tier has certainly helped the KS move in the right direction. At least T2 now seems a decent possibility to get funded. I still think they need a specific table to use as a stretch goal...
