What do you think the next kick starter will be?

I have no problem donating $100 towards The Simpsons table pack.

I think it would make sense to combine the original Data East table with Pinball Party. I just hope they do this before someone like Zen ties up the license.

That's not likely. Zen actually is prohibited from re-creating any physical tables from the companies Farsight has acquired licensing rights for (Including Data East/Sega/Stern). Unless they were able to have a license that had a no-compete clause directed specifically at Farsight they would have to have a clause that would stop any video games from being produced and the Simpsons already have other video games that have been released and likely continue to be made with other companies.

I meant if Zen were to make an original pinball table based on The Simpsons as they did with their Star Wars 9 table deal, then it might complicate things.

No complications (like Bowflex explained) because that license would have nothing to do with re-creating a table for FS. FS is free to recreate Star Wars also if they could strike a deal with Disney. Nothing Zen can do about that, from what I gather.

I'm not sure that Disney would be keen on having two separate Star Wars pinball games on the market though - they have that box ticked. Farsight would really have to sell it to them. It would be like if Megablocks approached them to make Star Wars Megablocks. Disney would basically respond "We already have Star Wars Lego, why do we need Star Wars Megablocks?"

That's what I reckon would happen but who knows.

I have trouble understanding that logic. More companies want to pay for a license equals more income, I would think.(but I have a hard time understanding how big companies do business anyway so you might be right)

Disney is far fetched either way. Too expensive and hard to deal with according to FS

Going along with what Farsight has said today in their stream session than The Addams Family would be the next kickstarter and everything else is second to it.

...and everyone should prepare to dig deep in their pockets if/when The Addams Family Kickstarter goes live.

I personally think Simpsons would be better for a Kickstarter, but I understand TAS is probably a better designed table.

1. The Addams Family would probably cost an obscene amount of money.
2. We already have many monster/macabre themed tables, but not a single cartoon based table.
3. The Simpsons is still a hot properly, especially in gaming and collectively, two important categories for Kickstarter interest.
I'm willing to bet less people still care about a movie from the 90's based on a TV show from the 60's.

I certainly will.
Hope many others will do the same

I've heard a lot of people say since twilight zone that whatever they might have given for other tables they would more than double it. I know I would and lots of people on twitch feed said they would as well. I glad farsight was able to hear the love the community has for the table and that they sincerely committed to put their money where their mouths are.

Personally, I think it would be a gesture of goodwill for FS to put up the money and do TAF on their own.

It's hardly a risk as it's insanely requested and popular, so I personally don't think it justifies a Kickstarter...the.interest.is.there. The only risk is if they absolutely botch the table, which i really don't think they would do.

Honestly though, TAF kind of reminds me of Justin Beiber...insanely popular but not really that good.

The problem with Simpsons Pinball Party is that, while I understand that it's good, it's a modern Stern -- you don't encounter too many modern Sterns in pinball arcades, so many people wouldn't have the foggiest of how it plays.

The Addams Family was *everywhere* in the early 90s. Best selling pin, and a very well rated pin overall. It doesn't have the speed, mode depth, or insane multiballs of some of the later pinball machines, but (MHO) TAF sort of "set the stage" for any of the pinball revival era features (doubly so since TAF allowed Lawlor to create TZ).

I'm sure SPP would sell well, but I doubt as well as TAF.

I think the next kickstarter should be EBD. FS could say, "We'll give it to you if you want to help fund it."

Im not sure it will be that more expensive than past KS table, i mean T2 must have been similar matched in price when you think of who's involved in the table and how relevant the Terminator franchise still is as well. So i dont think the KS target for TAF will be stupidly high

I was thinking around the 100k mark
Hmm

I would agree. Probably a bit higher even. Tz was 55k, st:tng was 60k and t2jd was 66k.

The second 2 kickstarts had decent leftover funds from the prior campaign. T2 only raised 3k over its goal so that will be a minimal impact on the goal level.

I was speaking more of the original Data East Simpsons table from 1990(?).
This was in every arcade near me in NY and there were lines to play it.

A Simpsons Table Pack seems like it would make the most sense in terms of licensing.

The Simpsons are back on top again, at least as far as gaming goes. The Simpsons Tapped Out has been a Top Ten seller for well over a year now with no sign of slowing down. It's actually helping the show gain more viewers which is interesting.

Fox may see the licensing of a Simpsons pinball table having promotional benefits and cut Farsight a better deal in the process.
