what does "nudge right" mean?

does nudge right mean nudge to-the-right (meaning push the machine with your left hand) or does it mean tap the screen on the right?

if you nudge a real machine to the right, it means the ball seems to move to the left, as essentially the ball stays still under the machine

thanks

I know what you mean and I am confused too... I'll have to watch and see how the table moves..

I remember wishing there was a way to invert it though...

Weirdly, I don't give it a second thought when nudging, can't for the life of me tell you which way the tables moves though.

i don't either on a real table, but playing TPA on my iphone i play in landscape mode with my thumbs, and have to reach up to tap the top half of the screen on one side or t'other to do nudges. watching the awesome video by squid playing RBION, i can see the massive amount of help that correct nudging can offer on this thing, so i want to try

If I was playin' on a real table and someone shouted out a cautionary "nudge right!", I would probably use my right hand to nudge the table to get the ball to move right.

This is probably a case where two rights are wrong, however. I move on instinct. (Which is code for I don't really know.)

On a real machine I spend most of my time nudging up to take some of the momentum out the ball when it's pinging off the slings.

I'm always screaming at the machine "get out of the $$$$ing slings!!!!1!11!!" Right before I have to shove save it and picking up a double warning on my local real machine. Nudging forward takes just enough momentum out of the ball for it to find an outlane

You're doing it wrong ;)

If you time it right the upwards nudge should clear it of the sling area back into middle playfield.

I've never been able to nudge in real life. At the Pinball Hall of Fame the tables are about 2" apart making no room to nudge left and right. Nudging up or down in real life never made much of a difference in my experience. Tables were spaced even tighter at the Milwaukee show.

You don't need much room, you can shove the machine left and right. The legs flex slightly so that's where the movement comes from, you rarely move the actual machine.

Wait, so I was doing it wrong when I lifted the machine up off it's legs to nudge it?!

I mean't on TPA, my general rule on a real machine is bash the side it's heading to.

Bashing the machine on the right side would make the ball move to the right, as Squid pointed out, so that would not be good if the ball is heading for the right outlane. You'd want to nudge it from the left side.

Not always, if its heading that way, bashing it on the same side might be enough to bounce it off the side wall. Similarly, bashing it from the left may make it bounce off the inlane/outlane separator.

Yeah, that's true. What I'm talking about though is keeping it away from the outlane area altogether, as a precautionary measure....for instance if it's heading down toward the top of the right sling.

HULK NUDGE!!!! (See my pic? That's why that's funny tee hee)

Nudge left - nudge right.
It's Nudge Up I need for Android! Please Farsight.

Man we really need shake nudging to be reversed. I can even see the table move the wrong direction when i nudge then....(see after first quote)
