Why only 10 tables per year now?

You can judge tables by ipdb rating and then season 1 leads before 2. FT and BSD are the best of season 3 - ranked about #30.

There really are very few more tables to do in even the Top 40, unless they pony up for some licenses (Red and Ted and Judge Dredd stand out as the most possible without Kickstarters). Actually I only see one non-licensed left: High Speed II The Getaway, which I do think is a shoe-in at some point.

There's still a bundle left in the top 100 though. Tables like Cyclone are a shoe-in (probably Safe Cracker too if it's possible to code in its quirky features). The DMD pickings are slim except a couple maybe from that Sony deal (Last Action Hero, Johnny Mnemonic) but there's a lot of early solid state (Fathom, Xenon, Sorcerer) and other Sys11s (Swords of Fury, Banzai Run, Mousin Around...)

Many of these seem good candidates for the next couple seasons, obviously, but they don't have the wallop of an Attack From Mars or Theater of Magic or Tales or Medieval Madness etc.

(Note that some EMs rank higher than these tables, if the the two lists were combined, the top ranked EM (Slick Chick) was be at #54, and 55 EMs have the same score as Mousin' Around or higher. Have to be careful with EM rankings though. Central Park is rated very highly on IPDB, on par with Xenon. I don't think it's quite rated so highly in the Pinball Arcade crowd!)

Yeah, EM rankings are hard to rely on. Many have a very small number of rankings.
Central Park is highly rated, but the TPA version plays nothing like the real thing. I've played the real thing and the ball speed is much slower, the flippers are not crazy strong, and the rubbers in the bottom section enter much more into play. It's not in my top 20 of EMs, but many love it.

Some tables that weren't on my radar in other seasons have become my favorites now. IPDB ratings are down to personal opinions about a table.

Keep your mind open and you might just be surprised with some of the "B List" titles, Rich Lehmann

Yeah, IPDB seems completely random. Twilight Zone?! Really?? And Cirqus Voltare doesnt even belong in the top ten of TPA Season 1 let alone of all pinball tables.

Yeah, I get that some tables grow on you, it took me a while to figure out why people love Diner but I get it now.

We might begin to see more 80s and early 90s tables in the next couple seasons. Fine with me! :)

There are still plenty of non licensed, or manageable licensed, tables out there that people will like. Cyclone, Earthshaker, Jack*Bot, Hurricane, Comet, Eight Ball Deluxe, and Safe Cracker, just to name a few.

I rented a house for 3 weeks that had Comet and I played it maybe a dozen times. I found it to be a really boring table. Maybe it wasn't working right but I found it really dull. And it had some seriously racist artwork which normally I find kitsch if its a funny stereotype and fits with the theme of the table but it was of a little kid and completely out of place which just made it sad. Like an extra from Birth of a Nation ended up on a space rollercoaster.

There are 20 more IPDB top 40 tables that are not in TPA. (Granted, many of them are Stern tables that have two or more versions listed.) All of these are licensed, and most have very serious licenses. The highest-ranking unlicensed tables are #42 Revenge From Mars and #44 Cyclone.

Actually I only see one non-licensed left: High Speed II The Getaway,

So you think HS2 is unlicensed? :)

Correct, I was only talking about pure unlicensed tables. None left in the top 40. Even the one I mentioned because...

Yeah, me forgot about silly ZZ Top song. *slap head*

The situation's good for Sys11 fans, because I know there's a fair amount of them out there. And that's the target that really has the best of the unlicensed left. I gotta say that even a few of the early solid state ones look mighty tempting compared to trying to shoehorn some of the, er, less appealing tables out there lurking in the bottom of the ranks.

What about the leftover tables from Farsights previous games? I read them saying it takes less work to do a previously released table, how 'bout a Sorcerer and Lost World pack and Ace High and Jive Time together? I would like to persuade them to do this, like I read one of you guys say PBA is like my Pokemon (cant remember who)

I think they would still need to buy another table of each to optimize them for the newer formats.

Lost World was not made by Farsight and would have to be made from scratch. But as for all of the other tables you mentioned, +99,632

I actually like the slower release rate. It gives me more time to properly digest the tables, and fit other games in as well.

Also lets FS up the quality level, so it's all good!

Not I, seeing that PS3/Vita people have double the waiting time as everyone else.

Damn, I was looking for proof but can't find the photos.

I could swear, my first trip up to FarSight 2 years back, that they had a Sorcerer on sight. Unfortunately it looks like my pics from that visit have been deleted or I simply can't find them. Wish I could confirm that feeling.

No need to confirm, the answer was posted on the FB page a while back if I recall right. I'm 99.9% sure they said they didn't have one.

I'll ask again.
