Verrrry good points 'jhamdotme', and one point about the history of these tables: indeed, this should be much more prominent, background info, photo's, make it clear to users that this is emulation of real vintage tables and that they are special.

Get rid of the A.S.K. logo on the table, +1. (Never touch the authentic look of pinball re-creations!)

Looking forward to the update. What started as a disappointment (and a to quick judgement, my bad) might turn around into something very nice.

Hey pinball fans!

As we see many of you have been confused by function of 4th ball in Zaccaria Pinball, that's why we think it's about time to explain this feature more detailed. We also had been confused at the first time, but this is a cool feature, you will see!

Numerous pinball machines of Zaccaria has a feature that's called 'GAME TIME BONUS'. The point of this feature is that you can collect 'time' with your 3rd ball. You can see a counter on right upper side of the screen (see white ring on the picture!). That counter says how much seconds you have collected with your 3rd ball. Let's say it says 50 (seconds) when you lost your 3rd ball. That means you have 50 seconds to play with your next, 4th ball and collect more scores. Let's say this is an extra ball with limited time usage. The counter starts to counting as soon as your 4th ball gets the launcher. All the flippers will be deactived when the counter reaches double zero.

We hope we have managed to explain clearly the meaning of 'GAME TIME BONUS'!

I wish they would also allow for play in a landscape view.

It’s certainly possible, somewhere. Look at their trailer on YouTube. Each of the tables are shown there in landscape orientation.

Perhaps someone from A.S.K. can elaborate on this. They should be showing up soon. I invited them with a quick Facebook message, and they replied:

I PM'd A.S.K. about this, and they answered that they just felt like recording it in landscape... By the way, they also have some Art of Pinball gameplay recorded the same way, but never actually included it in the game...

Welcome to the forum Zsolt. You have a very good foundation already in place with Zaccaria Pinball and with continued updates and improvements, I'm certain it will become one of the top pinball apps on iOS. You'll find that many members of this forum are willing to provide you with constructive feedback that will aid you in accomplishing your goal as many of us are pinball fanatics...the more pinball, the better!

Also, please don't forget about us Android and console gamers. :)

Welcome on the forum Zsolt, and thanks for checking-out our feedback.

I think that the overall first response was that the game wasn't good. This was my first reaction, but I changed my mind quickly. I really do like it because there are things that are very-very good, but there are things that needs work. I believe that Zaccaria Pinball could become very good with just a couple of adjustments. You see, we are purists here, pinball maniacs. And Zaccaria is meant for pinball freaks who love electronic recreations of real vintage pinball tables. And this audience is a different ballgame than the 'ordinary' game-player. We care about accurate physics just as it would be in real life. And the biggest issue is the physics. The flipper bounce for example, but also the ball speed. It seems too slow and I remember a comment from someone who said that it felt like playing underwater pinball. If this issues could be adjusted you are there for 99%! Because the graphics are well done, just like the sound effects. The rest is details.
I wrote that I have a problem with the ball look, and please let me refer you to how the ball in TPA looks like. Just a suggestion.
Also, as mentioned by 'jhamdotme', please remove the A.S.K. Homework logo from the table. Put your logo in the menu, put it everywhere you want but stay off the authentic looks of real tables! There is no need to do that, we know who you are.

As negative as my first reaction was when I bought your product as positive I am now, and I can say that I am looking forward to the updates and the next table! I hope Zaccaria Pinball will become a success!

One thing I like about this forum is getting turned on to new tables which aren't the Pinball Arcade like Revenge of the Rob-o-Bot and even a work in progress like this, so cheers to the thread starter and night for the encouraging feedback.

I'll give it a go in the hopes of improvements to come. Nice to see a dev representative coming in as well!

Don't have the game (yet?) so bear in mind my observations are based on the trailers.

  • I have to give A.S.K. credit for higher-fidelity mechanical sounds. The Pinball Arcade is severely lacking in this area.
  • Is it just me or are the flippers really close together? It looks like the ball can barely fit between them. I think I was irritated by this with Age of Pinballs and it's a pity that trait from those original tables has followed along to the simulations.
  • The ball shouldn't follow the plunger rod when it's pulled back. If it did that on a real machine, it would drop inside the cabinet because the playfield doesn't extend under the plunger scale.

Hope they keep improving this!

Good point, something that has been on my mind as well, it looks too narrow indeed.

Here is a very good vid of a real Zaccaria Time Machine in action, see physics!

This video also shows us that A.S.K. needs to animate the pop bumpers a bit. In the actual video, we can see them moving when they fire, but in the app, they're kind of lifeless.

Thanks for joining! Since we're getting into constructive feedback, I'll distill what I've already said into a few points:
1. Add bounce off the flipper rubbers that allow the ball to bounce off of one flipper to other and makes trapping the ball less of an inevitability.
2. Add some kind of online leaderboard or support with Gamecenter to allow users to compare and compete for scores.
3. Condense the flipper/lighting/ball options into one purchasable option. Or make them free, although from a business standpoint I understand if this isn't something thats feasible.

Like night said, if we came off as too derisive from the get go, it's because most of us are pinball players that take the physics very seriously. You have a very nice looking game, graphics-wise and thats a great start. Like others said, if some of these things were tweaked, I think you would have a loyal fanbase amongst pinball players and people on this board.

Then be sure the update is bloody good! ;)

It is good promotion to give away the first table for free.

-An addition comment: I believe it has been brought up before, but the camera and menu icons are very large. This makes the game look childish. This is not a kids game, grown-up pinball freaks are your audience. It should be made smaller.
