I'll speak for Jeff (since I know what it's for) - it'll be available for the public to watch. Interesting bit of trivia - Jeff was the 2nd member of the site, and has been a friend of mine for years. Google his name to see some of the other projects he's been involved in.

Keep in mind those are people buying things to show off - they want to be seen with their fancy new whatevers. You don't take a console out in public, so that's not really a valid point.

How many of us really care what it looks like though? I haven't look at any Sony boxes and thought "that is beautiful, I must own it?" I bought the thing for the games, not the design of the box.
