I think it more likely has to do with Arcade 1Up Pinball, as those will release late Aug to early Sep (I believe) and the expo show would have been the logical spot to debut the final version of the cabs and what content will be on them.
So I think I'm done adding games for now. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll probably revisit as time goes on. I wound up also adding 3 versions of NFL Blitz, which required me learning about CHD files and where to install them.
Let's move on to a different issue I'm coming across. I started...
Nopedy nope nope nope! I plugged in my friend's Oculus Rift and hated it almost immediately. I cannot stand the poor resolution. If I see text, it needs to be clear and crisp. When the main menu of the system can't even do that, we got problems. I lent it to another friend to get his opinion...
It's not quite as deep a rabbit hole as I've been going down with Arcade 1Up cabinet mods. I've been watching a sh!t ton of those vids. I'm purposely being selective with games, as I don't gotta catch 'em all, you know? It's not like pinball! I am having fun cultivating and going down memory...
Out of that massive list, here's what I'll add.
I do remember playing Congo Bongo in arcades.
Apparently I have no choice with Frogger, as you're not the first person to tell me that.
I like the vector graphic look of Gravitar though I don't ever remember playing it.
Gyruss sorta looks like...
Thanks guys, got it working now! Now if only I had a spinner control because while playable, there’s no finesse on Tempest with a standard 8 point joystick! Tell ya, we take these analog sticks on game pads for granted. Might have to buy a USB spinner to plug in. Course then I’ll want a...
I checked this MAME version for what version of ROMs will work on it, and for Tempest it only lists one (Rev 3, Revised Hardware). I've tried 2 different Tempest files, one even listed as Rev 3, but still no luck. I honestly think this version of MAME being used is just too outdated. As for...
After watching some YouTube gameplay...
Battlezone - was that one of those you played by looking through a scope of some sort? I vaguely remember this one
Berzerk - I do remember this, but Robotron and Smash TV essentially do it better
Popeye - I put quarters into this machine, don't think I...
Okay, I feel a bit stupid not trying this out on 3rd and 4th challenge, and you are indeed correct that it’s using up tix. No idea when that changed then, because it was definitely something I was tracking when I first saw what I thought I saw way back when.
Okay, so if you've listened to the podcast, you know I have an Arcade 1Up Street Fighter II cab that is on long term (possibly permanent) loan to me. The owner essentially did a RetroPie to the thing, except he used a PC so he could have Steam games on here. He upgraded the buttons and...
I’m using the latest version too (there is no iOS beta team, just to be clear)
I note my ticket count, currently at 32,345. I go into daily challenges, select the top one, press play. Game starts, I flip a few balls, I push the pause button and select to leave the challenge. It does, and my...
I just checked and it still works. I noted my ticket number (it ended in 345), started a challenge, pressed the pause button and 'exit challenge', was sent back to the main menu and my ticket count still ended in 345. I'm on iOS, so can't say if it works for Android.
Out of curiousity, if there was a new FX4 for both consoles, would you be installing it on both too? And then buying new tables for both as they come out? Or will one be the pinball console and the other for everything else?
Grind, grind, grind! Do it for the coins while you can, before the new tables drop, because then you'll be back to collecting parts. With 3 challenge slots open, in one 24hr cycle you should get 12-16 coins. Spend the tickets to play 2 more rounds of the easy challenge, that'll nab you another 6...
You need to look at the larger picture beyond when you got into digital pinball.
Anyone who has only gotten into it within the last two years has no clue about what was previously offered in TPA as those tables simply aren't for sale there. There are plenty of people who had only gotten into...
I'm assuming everyone read this last week when Zen posted it to Twitter and Facebook...
A pinball message from our COO (Mel Kirk)
Hi everyone, I know this has been a very slow year for pinball releases -- oddly, the slowest in our 13-year pinball development history.
Behind the scenes...
