And back on topic: I don't find the TPA instructions for Big Hurt very clear
- what does determine that a right Gap shot becomes a player's choice?
- which EB's are repeatable? I can only think of the player's choice one, but have never got that one more than twice (in the form of a hurry-up)...
On the official TPA site the leaderboards for iOS are not displaying scores, and they put a text beneath: "we are aware of the iOS issue with both the Big Hurt and EBD tables not displaying scores. We aim to fix this in the next update". Scores seem to be registed though, with HOF points given...
:) Paragon is quite the popular table around here. I only saw a Bowen Kerrins tutorial of it, and it looked a whole lot like EBD in terms of gameplay and depth. Target shooting, going for an early carry-over bonus, maxing out the X-bonus etc.
A LOTR KS could be succesful from the TPA fan's viewpoint because of the popularity of the table, that we can probably agree on, even with some KS fatigue voiced here. The issue with Stern I think is as follows: even with their partnership, it seems SPA will cover the newer tables for which...
I can hit Funhouse's trapdoor consistently by actually shooting too early and ricochet a shot of the leftmost post that guards the ramp. I try to get a nice rhythm going with two balls alternating feeding lock for a trapdoor shot and shooting the ramp to light it again and feeding the left...
I also like the advanced shooting of the tunnel drop targets, via the right side TLE standups. It's the way on iOS to achieve high scores (but may not work that good anymore on PC).
Through TPA I found a new appreciation for pre-DMD style tables, and Space Shuttle is surely one of those tables...
As far as I have understood until now, the straight to app emulation of the new Stern pins prohibit the merger of the two on the technical side. Aside from that there may be legal or marketing reasons not to merge. I put in a request to at least merge the leaderboards and HOF point system for...
No question is too simple, we all have to start somewhere. The answer is that TPA is just not programmed to do that. But even if it would be, it would not be realistic behaviour to actually start a new game right away. On a real machine that is set to paid play, you go to attract mode with an...
Did you actually delete it by going through "manage tables" and then re-download it? That's what helped me. On the other hand, it sounds like you should have the latest version if you did a fresh download of all tables, so this may not help...
I just got an email from support that they are working on a fix and hope to include it in the next patch. No date given for that, I hope it doesn't take too long.
This is a tad bit premature maybe, but better be early than late. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Stern Pinball Arcade (SPA), because we'll be getting killer tables that we otherwise wouldn't have ever seen in digital form. I still hope they will do some back catalog tables too...
I'm sad that even if we ever see LOTR or TSPP, it will be at best in SPA. I will feel better if the leaderboards of both TPA and SPA will be merged eventually, with the same HOF system. I think I'll put that request in now come to think of it!
I think it feels a bit off, as does for example Starship Troopers. I feel like I have to shoot shots too early or too late to get reliable results. Junkyard is also very bouncy and floaty. But in this discussion it's always also about that two identical IRL tables can be tuned and setup so...
