I think there's a slight bug: I had this ball in play while the ball selection was on the regular ball. Quitting the game and restarting the dr. Who table did not help, I had to quit and restart TPA. Funny that this even can happen when you don't have those custom balls.
Well, don't let one player ruin the fun I say! For some people conflict is oxygen. I would be sad to see top players leave, then us medium skilled players won't have anything to shoot for. If Farsight doesn't find a cheat- and bugproof leaderboard system, this thread is the best thing we have...
I'll play a Dr. Who sometime soon, will check that out! But I'll take your word for it. Then again, now they seem to be "sucked in" a bit when they come near the lock holes. We have seen that behaviour before, and that feels slightly off physics-wise.
It's probably a probability fluke and on the scale of 0 to life not very important, but I can honestly say I have never seen a match at the end of a Dr. Who game. And god knows that I played a heck of a lot of games.....
Can anybody confirm/disprove? I would also like to know the DMD animation...
I'm having a much easier time with MB now that physics are adjusted a bit. Locking has become somewhat too easy maybe, but those pesky Dalek holes are spot on now IMO, not too easy, not too hard. This beckons the question if playing MB has become a viable scoring strategy. I had a hard time...
I just saw a heck of a tournament final this weekend on Congo which made me appreciate the table even more. I asked some top players why it is such a popular tournament table and the consensus was that Congo is one of those tables that have multiple viable scoring strategies instead of being a...
Maybe the moderators have an overview on how many different forum users there are, and how many are active posters. I have the impression that there is a minority of very active posters, and that that group can be a bit daunting to newbie posters. I sure had that in the beginning, although I...
Rich Lehmann Or maybe it reflects that your taste differs from the average voter on this poll on this particular table? I definitely like Gorgar more than say Cue Ball Wizard, but I can understand it is possible that people think the other way round.
iOS does play OK, not great but OK. I get the right inlane speed-up and after playing a lot of dr. Who (which got fixed and now has better physics around the Dalek Holes) I really have to get used to Gottlieb again. I kinda like the MB thing, although it's difficult to control with more than two...
I have the impression they were testing the waters so to speak (no pun intended). I don't like this practice, although I can understand that you would want to get an impression of a possible customer/fan base. But it lessens the goodwill of potential backers like me. And if they were diving in...
What I find most interesting about those 1234 targets, is that they seem to give the ball extra energy when hit. There are other targets in TPA tables that do that, and I really wonder if that is natural behaviour. It sometimes looks as if there is a spring hidden behind them. The Gorgar at our...
Figuring out the best risk/reward shots on this table is really enjoyable, and it is also a very good nudge practice table, lots of outlane drain saves possible.
This is my favorite strategy:
- Plunge the A-rollover, this one is the hardest to get while in the actual game
- Focus on shooting...
Well, judging from this poll and assuming we'll see maybe some older Sterns still in regular TPA, the next kickstarter should either be TSPP or LOTR. Jus' saying....
I hear you can get that removed by your general practitioner...
Kidding aside, I have the same. It's the typical high risk/high reward thing. If you are killing the O ramp and cashing in on the last wave bonus, it's bliss. Still hating those MB holes though....
Hi MIK,
Welcome to the forums, and nice to see you promoting your favorite machine. Seeing as this one has not a particular license on which it is based, it has a good chance of being made for TPA if they can find it and if they judge it to be popular enough to make some sales and/or it has a...
