If you're having trouble hitting a left ramp/orbit shot through a cluster of bumpers, go play some Addams Family and see if it changes your mind about Maiden's shot ;)
I just realized what has been nagging me about the FX3 Williams thing.
It's essentially a reboot, but it feels like it's being done too soon, while the fun and joy of the "originals" are still fresh in our memories.
It's the "Amazing Spider-Man" of digital pinball.
Spider-Man (2002) and...
I would also discard anything Tarek does with these tables. He's been blowing up digital pinball in all forms for 20+ years, since the original Pro Pinball tables and probably before that when there weren't online leaderboards. (He's like the 1995 Jonah Lomu of Digital Pinball - an unstoppable...
Some nice fill-in-the-blanks-conspiracy-theory-speculation in there. I'm impressed.
I didn't play the first version of the public beta of FX3 WMS, only the current version, so I don't have a comparison with how it was at first. I agree on the difficulty level of FT. It's not there, and...
How do you know Timmy wasn't an oversized insect who'd just thrust a claw straight through the brains of some poor unsuspecting infantryman?

My youngest is 6 (going on 7) and he already gets far worse ideas and language from YouTube videos. The idea we need to censor tables like MM is frankly laughable. Use the "would it offend my elderly relatives?" test*.
* It's sad that I'm getting to the age where "elderly relatives" are my...
It's annoying because that camera is almost exactly the "I'm standing at the table" view (adjust for height as necessary, but since I'm of an average height, it's just about spot on). Just can't get the distortion out of my mind.
It's not "new" - it was in the most recent beta build released last Friday (9/7) - and it was the view i eventually settled on. My only mild complaint is that in portrait mode (1080x1920) it maybe looked a bit "squished", particularly at the bottom?
I can't speak for the Steam (or iOS) beta-testing groups, but the Android beta testing group is very active and most versions that come out have a ton of stuff flagged up - especially when it comes to things like lighting and art. I imagine lighting is one area where the mobile and Steam builds...
I played quite a bit of FX3 FT last night, and while I agree it's a great simulation and looks good - it definitely looks better than TPA does - the differences between the two are subtractions in one place, and additions in others.
First there are my interface gripes with FX3 - having to go...
A quick test on my 'phone with the TPA version of FT, and the same nudge sends the slowly ball into the bottom tip of the right slingshot and back down for a soft catch. So there's a difference in angle as well as strength.
Umm... yeah. There was this one ST:TNG in a university bar where the tilt sensors had stopped working. To get the ball to move like that, you had to literally pick up the table.
Varies from State to State. I think most States have some kind of penalties for using a mobile device while driving now, but it wouldn't surprise me if some don't (I'm lookin' at you, Texas... and maybe backwoods places like Montana and Wyoming?!)
Here in Pennsylvania, we do. It's $50 and no...
Zen are focusing on the '90s for the same reason FS did initially: those are still the best-known, and best-remembered, pins out there. It's the ultimate sweet spot for generating interest and sales. Bait the hook and reel 'em in (heh, see what I did there?) - then whack 'em over the head.
I have a 144hz monitor and have not experienced any issues with TPA (or any other game) that is locked in at 60fps.

I have about 20 or so podcasts (or more?) to listen to stretching back to God-knows-when. It's just not convenient for me to listen anywhere though. Not any more, anyway. It's now got to the point where there's so many in the backlog I don't know when or where to start.
