Got the goal properly awarded on Vita the first time I did it... but I can't say for sure if special was the only thing lit on the target when I hit it.
Yeah, said it before but it's all about completing the mirror every ball and picking up the other EBs along the way. Epic runs on this game are all about controlling the mirror shot eject (since you can catch or dead pass to the left at will, 99% of the time), and making safe repeatable shots to...
I can't argue with a new tablet + root + sixaxiscontroller app.
That said, I'm happy with the vita and although I haven't exactly been blown away by the software lineup yet, it has essentially been a free ride so far with TPA cross buy and all the PS+ freebies. That, and, I'm on board the PS4...
Of all the tables I did play back in the day, and I played most all of them (especially the earlier SS games)... yet SOMEHOW, I don't remember ever seeing this table at the many many haunts I made my rounds through (back when there was SOMETHING with video/pinball just about every other block)...
I updated mine before I heard about this and fortunately I was fine (I have an early slim model)
It REALLY would have pissed me off because it would have interrupted me playing The Last of Us...
One thing I did notice though...after updating, the game decided it needed to perform its initial...
Totally fine with rebuying the PS4 version again, and I expected to. You can't really expect a company to put the time and effort into building a product for a new platform and then just give it away.
At the risk of repeating myself, I just hope we can see an improved Vita version to go along...
I wonder if (and hope that) there will be a Vita 2.0 version, that can be crossbuy with the PS4 version. The Vita can be so, so, so, so, so, so, so much better.
The trick to beating video mode pretty much every time is to just strafe side to side but NOT all the way, just so your shots are reaching the upper left and right corners. Just trust in that and don't deviate from it; but be ready to use the smart bomb in case one slips through. Since adopting...
Sony seems to be on the right track with the PS4 so I'll probably be going that route but yes... I'll be very skeptical of paying for this game all over again. I'd also like to see a Vita "2.0" remake where they're actually using the GPU and all the capability of it, then make THAT a cross-buy...
As said, keep the kickback lit. But here's what I started doing other than that... forget completing the banks ALL the time. When you have the kickback lit, just start shooting the spinner. The trajectory of the ball returning from the upper field often gives you a chance to trap. If you trap...
I play on Vita and nudging rarely helps, and often tilts. On the other hand, with no EOB bonuses to lose, it really doesn't hurt much to tilt if you're going to lose the ball anyway. 10 lost balls/tilts just to save 1... still worth it.
As for strategy, I can really only think of two other...
We've suspected all along that the bugs/exploits were most likely coming from Android/IOS. What's a little surprising to me though is I suspected someone was using a cheat utility of some kind... funny that it's actually an inherent bug in the game itself.
And Dr. Dude is FAR worse (see "slowdown" thread)
At least I was able to have a few more decent games of Firepower that went fine... but I definitely expect to see more glitches. Just a matter of time.
Edit. Duh. It's YOUR thread. Guess you're aware... heh
It has been said (unsure if this is true but I believe it) that FS doesn't even use the GPU in the Vita at all; the entire game is driven by the cpu. In other words "Meh, we can't just do easy ports otherwise."
I've withheld sharper criticism for them before on Vita, because despite issues, for...
