At Pinball Wizard in NH tokens are ~$0.25 (discounts for big bills) and the tables take anywhere from 2-5 tokens. I assume depending on popularity and/or maintenance cost. I admit some of my enjoyment on a typical visit comes from subconsciously thinking about the relative cost of each table. 2...
Great, now you've got me playing the table again to see about this. :) I've never had an issue with the plunger FWIW. Just that "stuff happens" on El Dorado (which I picked just for example) that eventually is going to bite me.
Could you clarify what you mean here? We're talking about a ball just rolling down the middle empty part of the playfield for example, right? A nudge on a real machine is absolutely going to change the trajectory of the ball. Precisely by marginally moving the table while the ball maintains its...
As an Android only player, I kinda see how the marathon scores are possible on the DMDs. I feel like maybe, maybe I could achieve something like that given enough time and practice (except on Monster Bash, sheesh). But where I really feel stumped is on EMs. El Dorado EM I just cannot for the...
As a center shot aficionado, the couple times I've been able to have a go on Stargate the pyramid has caused me no end of frustration trying to get right. Then again my recently acquired first home table is a Demolition Man which is maybe a bit too far in the other direction.
I'd be quite...
I don't use a controller. All of my scores are from the touchscreen on a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone.
I tried the Steam version with keyboard but I'm terrible at it in every respect. But I'm sure it's just because I'm too locked in to the Android touchscreen way of thinking and I'm certainly not...
HRC jumped up a few spots in my ranking once I started to see the connections between its rule set and the LOTR rule set (one of my most played pins in the real world). I've never seen HRC in the wild but in TPA it's one of my favorites of the no-flow tables.
Not that I'm in the same stratosphere as you all, but since I somehow figured out how to take the jump up to my current #28 level I've lost a ton of motivation to keep grinding for scores. Even at that level the games are just so long on most of the tables. I play the new releases for a few days...
After another game today I don't think that either the top left hole or the right lock hole are consistently delivering jackpots. Must be more to this story.
Thanks. I find the ER from the top flipper hard, so I've been trying to activate as many modes as possible during multiball to get a freebie into the top left hole, since I was pretty sure it was scoring jackpots. That got me up to 4.8bn, not enough to threaten the top spots but not bad for now.
Am I crazy or is the same thing happening sometimes when the helicopter drops a ball into the top left hole during a multiball? I noticed the same thing you did but I wondered if it was the right lock hole or the top left hole that was triggering it.
I'll break with the glum assessment here because this was one of my most anticipated this season and I'm enjoying it. I have a big soft spot for this table in real life (I can put up respectable scores on it which is not the norm for me), and I think the recreation is solid.
I generally enjoy...
So far I'm kinda ambivalent about JD. It's another one with looooong game times but without the variation too make it bearable. Similar to MSF in that respect. I just don't have the patience to score chase on a table like this.
