Hell yeah. Awesome. I love Jack*Bot.
Still not convinced Getaway will be in this season, burning so many of the best remaining Williams DMDs close to each other. We might see either that or Road Show, but not both.
Am I the only one on the planet that actually likes clowns? I don't get the hate at all, or the glorification of evil and creepy ones. Clowns are fun and entertaining. My favorite stuffed doll as a kid was a clown. Still have him, though he's rather the worse for wear 35 years later.
They're harder just because of the interface. A touchscreen just can't give consistent 1/60 second frame precision on flips and nudges as can a keyboard or gamepad. And a tiny phone screen is harder to see and make shots than a 24" monitor or 40" TV.
And phones have problems with battery and...
Thanks for the invite, but I'll take a pass. Both because of the set of tables and because I need the Saturday for a personal project to finish for next week.
One reason is I never bought season three for High Speed. I could of course, but I'm happier without another ten time-sucking...
Aim a lot higher than you think you need to. Every time I start missing No Way Out, it's because I got lazy and started drooping my shots over towards Spine Chiller's direction. No Way Out is a very straight up shot on a ball rolling through that inlane.
You guys know that you can still choose progress towards Borg multiball even after the first instance? The Lock Ball option will be Light Holodeck instead... but this still lights the lock (still saving a shot) since it drops the drop target out of the way. I go for that every time.
Not intentionally, but it usually doesn't stick around long anyway.
The important tactic for control in multiball is what to do with balls coming down Insanity Falls from a jackpot shot. As the 5-way combo players know, you can't make a flow shot from there into No Way Out. As Gus says, hold...
What games do that? Cue Ball Wizard in TPA just doubles scores and not the other stuff, and it's a fairly short timer. (Complete with the Premier screw-the-player timer mechanism, where not only do you not get any grace period, you even forfeit two seconds that it looks like you should get, as...
invitro did this in our discussions about the top 40 players list. Scores over a billion still hit TOTAN frequently, a couple times a month. Often enough that it's wildly implausible that that many players are good enough to pull off the intricate Harem/Genie stack without finding these forums...
I've tried that and never get anywhere with it on TPA. The Harem value resets on draining. And long strings of bumper hits to raise the value aren't exactly easy accessible, either in or out of Harem. I can start Harem maybe three times on a ball and get the value to 150k or so, but that...
The big similarity to Pinbot is starting multiball, which works the same way with completing the visor and locking the two balls in the eyes. Other than that, Jack*bot is its own game. Multiball has two different interesting stages of jackpot shots, better than Pinbot having just the solar...
I once kept one going for 40 minutes and 8 billion total.
But that said, I later found that regular multiball jackpots score faster on the high end. I can complete the whirlpool awards once per ball on average to go infinite from the EBs (plus the occasional special/EB from a Vacation...
This is very important, you need a display with minimum lag to play TPA at its best. I'm not quite sure if every millisecond counts, but at least every frame (17 ms) certainly does. I have almost that same monitor except that I'm a snob for 16:10 1920x1200 resolution. Most TVs aren't designed...
But you don't want to nudge like crazy. You do want to nudge a lot, you've got that part right, slap save any ball near the center drain. But controlled and disciplined, not crazy. :)
We're fairly sure the TOTAN leaderboard is polluted with scores for other tables that erroneously posted to TOTAN instead. TOTAN is table index number 0, so there's lots of ways for corrupted or deliberately hacked data to have a missing table number and land here.
I don't think all those...
Yeah, I'd have to guess that midnight to 6 am (US Eastern) on a Monday morning probably won't attract much of anyone, nor will 5 am intruding into the work day for Europe. I get the part that if you don't like it you can start your own tournament... but you might find this one to be pretty...
Not really a bug, this was standard behavior in the system 11 era. Pinbot, Taxi, and Dr Dude all do the same thing in TPA, re-award a special/EB on reaching the replay score again after each rollover.
I'm a bit confused on how it works. Is it just a matter of reaching the goal scores, or is there a time component? Is it better to be the first player (in real time once the tournament starts) to post the score?
Well, that's the one shot on any of these tables you're not supposed to be able to hit at will.
For Medieval Madness... My 8 billion high came without ever doing BFTK at all. The game was about nothing but Castle Multiball over and over again. Completing all the jackpots awards an extra ball...
