I warmed up for an hour beforehand on the other three tables but didn't bother with AFM.
I screwed up on Genie and played my first game on the 5 ball setting. Thought I was just doing terribly at like 600k score and had misremembered the...
Submitted, and I have the pictures in an Imgur album. I'm going out for the evening, so will stand on just my one game of Flight 2000 and don't have time for a second long game of AFM.
Screwed up on Genie and forgot to set it to 3-ball play so scored a lot less than I should have on the first game. Played the second game of Genie, both of Firepower, and one of Flight 2000 that was good enough maybe not to need a second.
Time to start the grind on AFM, see youse guys in four...
The Genie forum has details. It's a bug in TPA's table scripting. You're only supposed to earn one EB at a time in Genie, but there's a rare bug that sometimes makes the ball-in-play counter roll backwards an extra time which functionally amounts to an additional EB. Nobody's identified the...
Playing Genie and I just got the extra ball bug, the ball-in-play counter has rolled backwards from 1 to blank. Should I just take advantage of it, or drain a ball to compensate?
I would record or stream, but it's not conducive to high score play since recording disrupts the game's smooth timing enough that I miss shots. I'll use my iPad camera, easy to upload from there.
Ok, last minute but I'm in. Haven't played any serious TPA in several months but this looks neat enough. And as a PC player I don't get Farsight's tournaments so this is an unusual chance. And yes, my high scores do come after lots of grinding and restarting so this is a new approach for me...
How could this be implemented workably? There's no axis to make it more sensitive on. Think about digital nudging, as with a PC keyboard. Do you want one isolated nudge to trigger the tilt sensor? Then you really can't ever nudge at all, at most once or twice per ball with warnings. Do you...
This. Heck, I remembered and loved High Speed and had that same reaction to it in TPA. Cyclone's ferris wheel was a neat gimmick on a real machine in 1988 but won't mean anything in a digital version in 2015. And Cyclone's million point shot was fun at the time but now far surpassed by...
No way we get all of those like that. Farsight wouldn't want to burn all four of their best available Williams DMDs right in a row (including TAF.) They have to mix it up more and save some bullets for season 5.
I think this is most likely true. All behavior I've seen in Monster Bash matches this theory, and there's no reason to think TAF would behave differently.
It doesn't exactly reset every game, it resets whenever TPA resets the ROM. That happens whenever you quit the table or restart a game...
I don't think Thing's AI can learn over time in TPA. The data would have to be stored within the ROM's memory, but that gets reset to a known state at the start of each game in TPA, losing any past data. Pro Mode might be able to preserve it, but not for leaderboard-eligible play.
The same...
These are the real indications:
- Farsight has mentioned TSPP as the next most likely table for a Kickstarter.
- Farsight has said that licensing for TSPP is possible (unlike say Monopoly where another entity in EA has exclusive rights.)
- Farsight has said that the cost for TSPP is an issue...
Yes, the center saucer, where the hole is guarded by a drop target. Once you've done Conquer Mars, the drop target remains up all the time and the forcefield down, so you can always hit it.
Well, it's not just the license, because DE Simpsons isn't all that universally loved. Actually it's rather a footnote that would be mostly forgotten if not for the later table with the same theme. Compare to say the Bullwinkle or Popeye games, where the cartoon license was worth mild interest...
I think playing multiball in BH is perfectly fine. The faster scoring and drain insurance is worth it. It's easy to start, just hit the four yellow standups and two locks. How good multiball is does depend a lot on how good you are at one-timing the re-entry shot back into the tunnel.
I...
My 190M was probably eight or ten hours, I don't really remember.
The table doesn't quite allow infinite play, because EBs don't stack. If you drain without earning an EB there's no way to make up for that and recover, you're permanently on the next ball. It's possible to get a house ball...
RTU stacks with Victory Laps in the sense that RTU is the best time to whail on the drop target to increase the Laps value. Seriously, don't shoot for anything else during RTU if Laps are active. Just bang on the drop target. You can get 20 hits to boost the Laps value from something like...
Space Jam is my favorite from that era of underrated Segas. It would hold its own against an average Williams/Bally from that era, like Troopers does too. The licensing might not even be prohibitive, since it's not the NBA and looks not to have any other players than Jordan.
