I really hope you're wrong. It definitely should not take a lot of effort to integrate steam friends to the leaderboards, and at least personally for me I have very little interest in playing at all unless I can get friends leaderboards in. I mean I'll play if there's a tournament and a little...
I'm really happy MM won. Farsight completely destroyed the feel of a classic table in TZ by making it arguably the easiest table in the entire game, whereas the real TZ is extremely brutal. Completely changing the dynamic and making it possible to just chain lost in the zones over and over till...
If we could somehow marry the UI and friends/etc systems from Zen and the tables from TPA that'd be swell. As it is there are like three tables that are actually good in my opinion on PFX2, while a vast majority of the TPA tables are very good. I know where I'd rather put my money in the future...
I'm just going to keep banging this drum because it's related to the thread and it's really astounding it isn't in yet considering there's a section in the ingame leaderboards for it: Give us friends leaderboards so we can choose our competition. I'm absolutely not interested in comparing scores...
What I'm curious about is, is that shot actually easier to do on a real table? What's the time limit on getting it anyway?
e: After some testing the skill shot is kind of hard to do but it awards practically no points and is easy enough with several different options on how to shoot it if all...
Yes very funny. The difference is that it's a new table and I'm the only one who's bothered to use the scoring progression for a significant amount of time so far. There'll be plenty of better scores from others soon. The scores I listed would, within the maximum scoring potential of the table...
Why does there need to be any other reasoning? The scores I posted are impossible to achieve. The reasoning behind why it happened is not important, although if you actually look at the number series for central park and gorgar it's incredibly obvious they've been hand entered by someone instead...
Amazing table. I love how it plays and the music/sounds are great. It has some serious scoring imbalances but then again there are so few tables that don't I'm going to just overlook that. Smashing start to season 3.
It's actually a lot more likely they were hacked scores on mobile, since if they were flaws in emulation or table bugs more people would have stumbled on them. The scores I posted and you quoted are not possible to achieve through balls stuck in jets or any similar situation with the possible...
There are some really clear hacked scores like the 300 billion on whirlwind (never mind this was already removed), but it depends a lot on the table on whether you can call it. A quick look through the boards for hacked #1 spots that are clearly impossible shows:
Central Park - Redflame2013 -...
Any word on if the steam friends leaderboard thing coming, Mike? I think you said you'd take a look at it last month and I'm just wondering if it's something that's going to eventually happen or is it just not doable?
I'd just like to note that flipper staging works really well now. It's still a bit squirrely but consistently doable with a bit of practice, so thank you for that. I just hope we can get friends leaderboards in and things will be pretty much all good.
I've been thinking about this and I think the reason slap saves are so easy compared to real tables is largely due to the playfield being a on a monitor in a much smaller space. This means you can see both the ball's trajectory moving down and the flippers at the same time easily. When you're...
I don't know anything about pinball coding, but I have to imagine getting the timing on sounds and lights and generally anything you hit on the playfield to work right when you have no ROM to control all that must be an absolute nightmare.
