Looks like they're done with DMDs, and I don't think this will affect SPA in the slightest, except to have to emulate the new display which should not be too hard to achieve. My understanding is that the SPIKE system is designed to plug into DMDs and the newer LCD/LED displays so in theory they...
I'm also hoping that the recent trend to custom artwork instead of photoshop junk is going to stick. The tables look so much better for it.
Now, where's my ZZ Top pin? Y'know, the one with all the Eliminator-era chrome styling blasting out "Sharp Dressed Man" and a proper version of "La Grange"?
Looks great. I also really like what Stern are doing with their displays. It's not multiple walls of info like WoZ or Hobbit, just super-upgraded DMD-style. Clear, big, colorful, and easy to read at-a-glance when you're playing.
Yes, but it's getting a bit long in the tooth - 4 generations of GPU back (5xx->6xx->7xx->9xx*->10xx). So don't expect great performance.
It's quite a way down this chart for example. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html
* 8xx was a limited mobile-only set of GPUs that...
AC/DC is a game where hearing the music is essential, as it cues you in easily to the mode you're playing.
You always know which multiball(s) will start next because the corresponding light(s) will flash. Getting multiballs lit is actually quite easy - ramps for Jam, targets for Album, loops...
I don't think so. Seemed to be pretty random. I also played through Prime Directive II a few times.
Edit: Just crashed during Space Jump II.

Yes, it works, except for the main menu. Cameras in Mustang are screwed so it's unplayable, AC/DC and Star Trek are fine, don't know about the TPA tables because I'm not interested in them.
You have to use Alt+Enter a couple of times to get it to display right in fullscreen.

You need to make these more often, my boss's boss came over in the middle of listening to say I could go home early (my boss had the day off... so the responsibility got kicked up the chain!)
Somewhere I reckon I've got a bunch of my old Lego instruction booklets... little did I know what great...
They are separate games with separate DLC, even though some of the pinball tables available in Stern Pinball Arcade (SPA) are also available in The Pinball Arcade (TPA). The only platform that currently supports cross-buying of DLC between SPA and TPA is Steam.
Going forward - both SPA and TPA...
(Note to mods: please move this thread to an appropriate sub-forum for AC/DC, once it is available. Thanks!)
I logged a good few hours with AC/DC last night, and got a reasonable feel for the table.
Like most of the modern Stern tables, AC/DC has a very deep, complex ruleset that can take a...
Having finally logged some time with the PC version - sadly, the mess is only in the presentation layer and UI. The actual tables themselves are fine!* Maybe some cosmetic and lighting issues need to be tweaked, but they play great. If only getting to the point you can play was less painful...
It occurs to me that the support personnel who answer emails, don't actually know anything useful. (In that regard they're typical first-line responders... but they should be doing triage as appropriate and passing queries on to people who do know the answers.)
Farsight stated, at the start of the SPA project, that it would be built on a new engine. It's not the same as TPA, despite what it looks like (it's a digital pinball table: just how much different can anyone make them look?). Just like TPA isn't the same engine as PHoF. DX9 wasn't randomly...
The Super Skill Shot was literally the first thing I did in my first game on AC/DC.
Getting the EB took longer, I actually had to read the instructions to figure it out. Still not convinced that the target bank EB is working like it should, but the combos one works just fine.
One thing I did...
True but then how will Steam re-calculate the cost of the bundle? If it's by crediting the cost of the removed tables, you're getting 2 new tables for considerably less than their sticker price, and I'm pretty sure Farsight and Stern don't want people doing that. If it's by adding up the cost...
