Hey guys, something I've been wanting to do for awhile now is build a mini VP cab. I wanna run TPA (DX11) and Zen on max settings, don't care about THE Virtual Pin software.
Can someone hit me with ideal specs/graphics card? Best version of Windows for the job? For the monitor- What has more...
All of this is true for me, too. SST is more fun IRL, though. I used to despise Dr. Dude, partially because it was one of the few tables near me for the longest time. I've come around to it, though. I even like the cheese-tastic presentation. It's still a ruthless monster, though.
Playing those...
Certainly some tables just need the real-world physics, kinetics and presence to be truly engaging. As a result, a lot of otherwise great games suffer in TPA.
Some games are just so well designed that they are still really fun and have great staying power despite what's lost in translation...
Time tournies and tournament play are all kinda new to me. I'm just now getting to a skill level where I've started playing in tournaments IRL. In TPA, I almost always forget to play in the tournaments.
I don't understand why Farsight doesn't run them in different formats every week. Seems like...
It's drastically easier than IRL, IMO. All the Season 1 tables are. CftBL, MM, SS, TZ are all too easy...
Every TZ I've played as been ruthless compared to the TPA version.
Both Zen South Park tables put the Sega game to shame.
I could live without more Sega tables, although I do like seeing more manufacturer diversity in the line-up.
These Data East tables, however, are awesome and better than most of the Premieres:
Guns n Roses
WWF Royal Rumble
Tommy
Rocky and...
I learned that I hate this table through this tournament.
On my highest scoring game I purposefully drained one of my EB's to collect the bonus before the timer ran out because I knew it would get me far more points than actually trying to play it.
Didn't know about Midnight Madness. Lame.
For anyone interested, the deal is still live.
If you have a compatible phone and aren't ready to spend hundreds to jump into VR, the GearVR is a steal at $60. The new version is marginally better, but not necessarily $40 better. Regardless, i recommend either model as a must buy for a Samsung...
This isn't an outright lie, but it is a little disingenuous. I feel like they've updated the physics on about 4 tables this year.
Good choice with Season 4. S5 is solid but S4 is superior, IMO. But I'm a Lawlor shill.
IOS: Going Into "Help & Options" During Tournament Table Play Crashes App! Be Careful
Don't lose your time and effort as I did!
Tested on all current tournament tables: Tapping "Help & Options" WILL crash the app of you are in the middle of a game.
Goodbye, High Score!
Well, I'll just say this:
I'm 31 and I just started playing pinball seriously two years ago. I love pins from all eras, I would just like to see some more 70's and early 80's pins. Where I live, pinball is scarce. I actually quite enjoy older games in addition to the more modern ones and I'd...
That's nearly 40 years of flipper-based pinball being completely ignored and forgotten.
Don't get me wrong, I get the appeal of the more "exciting" and feature-packed tables, but there are quite a few good games from the 70's and early 80's that shouldn't be neglected.
I think Eight Ball...
Hmm, I don't think it's nearly as fast as F-14... I just played this game IRL earlier this week and the speed seems pretty close to the real thing, from what I remember.
