First off, good that you got that out of your system, holding it in is not healthy. Secondly, as somebody who has poured in way too much money in TPA, I must say that I agree on some points with you. I have been a very patient user, but the fact for example that they still haven't fixed POTO on...
.....and 20.5M for 26th on the leaderboards. Not much fun to be had, only sport is to ramp up the lower playfield counter to 999.990 before draining and watch the overall score counter fly. Don't know if I got another grind game in me.
Another couple of thoughts on TPA Black Hole: while they captured the overall floaty feel of the original table quite nicely, some physics betray the fact that it is a season one table. I tend to use deadpassing a lot more lately in my playing style, and I have never seen such bouncy results as...
We have a Black Hole at our clubhouse, and just as Haunted House is more impressive in real life with it's widebody and 3 layers, so too is Black Hole more vibrant and "spacey" than can be brought over by a 2D screen. As has been said it's way more difficult than it's TPA counterpart, which in...
Good idea, I would settle for some fixes and polish. Give 'm some Kickstarter funds to take some time out to do just that.
I'm also in on TSPP btw, and after that LOTR! Why not?
Fungi: thanks for the info on the next build, good to hear about the fixes. Now what would it take to get Farsight to fix POTO and those lingering rollover/HOF points issues? Any chance you could relay that to them as beta tester? Maybe that would put some weight behind it.
In other news: my...
Some tables are not for some people, this is the case for me with Dr. Dude, can't do anything with that table.
On a side-note: that remark about the HUD messed up for BH doesn't bolster my confidence in a bug free release, anything on fixing Firepower, Black Knight and Gorgar? All had issues...
Played this table up to 7.0M way back when it was released. Enough for 1000 HOF points and not much incentive to go further. I remember the game as very long.... :) Also maxing out the lower playfield bonus (999.999?). Now 7.0M apprarently buys you a 225-ish place on the current leaderboards, so...
10.1M for. 16th on the leaderboards. Had a gazillion games in the 6-7M range and I think I'm done with this table. Funny how the problem areas shifted to the "S" (before MB) and "F" (during MB with one ball left) rollovers where first the "O" seemed most problematic. Also shooting the 3 target...
This was the only thing that worked for me. I do remember somebody saying that after multiple tries to do a remote backup they lucked out once, so you may want to try to do that and hope for the best. Local backup gets wiped if you uninstall and reinstall I think. Sorry man! I can't believe...
Well, I just couldn't resist having another go and upped my best by a million, topping out at 8.7M. And this was ended by a houseball, so more should be possible. Fun discussion btw on how to approach MB: take the 300.000 and change by stringing multiple MB's together, or spamming out on the...
I think multiball is not implemented that well in this table, because I don't see a clear reward for keeping it going when you get it. Aside from how difficult it is to keep it going for a while, the question is also if that is a good idea when judging risk/reward. If you try to keep it going...
I snorted my tea out of my nose reading that :) .....and the ball does do a funny thing indeed because it more or less grazes the center post instead of hitting it. It's also quite strange how the ball picks up pace hitting that particular spot where the inlane ends and the flipper begins. But...
Haven't played it IRL but it sure looks like fun, I especially like the different slingshot configuration. Otherwise it looks not to be any deeper in gameplay than a Space Shuttle for example. It also has that timed ramp shot with a running score total and a three ball multiball.
Good one Tyche! After scoring a 7.5M (also about double my previous) in just a third or fourth game back, I thought I would crack 10M in a heartbeat. No such luck and since seeing Tarek is on top of the leaderboards with (only?) 15M, I have to re-evaluate that 7.5M and maybe call it a week...
A friend got me into it when it was just out, and now it's part of my (semi)daily routine. Was very much into VP(M) before but the fact I can take out the iPad and play anywhere (well with WIFI offcourse) trumps VP hands down. Almost no hassles installing and almost watertight leaderboard and...
I think some newer pins have internet options, I know Wizard of Oz has an ethernet jack and USB Wifi is also possible. This is probably primarily for updating the software but it also opens options for connectivity with maybe another WOZ. I'll ask a friend who is involved with JJP if that is a...
