If a ball is rolling on a flat surface of the table and does not make contact with another object, nudging will not move the ball. That is a simple physics fact of the real world, and something TPA broke the laws of physics with.
Yeah my current monitor is only a 23", so weight would not be an issue!
The thing I like about the PinSim box is it has nudge and rumble built in. Apparently in cabinet mode FX3 doesn't have coil support, but I wonder if it still has rumble since this is acting as a controller. I'm so used to...
Zen has complete freedom apparently to do whatever, they just won't (and it might be aren't allowed) change the rules. But you know how FarSight was using audio cues to trigger goal rewards? Zen is clearly reading code, especially since if you are using score upgrade mods they are immediately...
I'll come clean, it's hard for me to know what the important questions regarding cabinet mode are since I don't have a cabinet (donations are welcome though!). I've seen some interesting 'non cabinet' configurations I might pursue though. I have a spare 4:3 monitor that I might mount to my wall...
But who's to say how much better it would have been then? According to our interview with Mel Kirk, FX3 was designed with WMS in mind and we've only had this platform for a year now. WMS in FX2 would have been fine, but it wouldn't have these new physics necessarily, certainly not this look. And...
Well of course you're never going to get Goin' Nuts, that's Gottlieb! But of the 61 WMS tables that TPA had, it's more than likely that a few won't make it to Zen just because. For instance, I count it a small miracle we got Safe Cracker, and would be equally surprised (in a good way) if we got...
It’s ROM emulation but they’ve also been able to optimize it so that there’s no performance hit. Considering they worked in all their overlays and have the scoring mods seemlessly integrated, I’d say they are definitely not using the same method of emulation VP and TPA use (which were virtually...
I think it's advisable for everyone to step back and chill. We tolerate a certain amount of ribbing on this site, but straight up name calling as a direct personal attack is never cool. We want FarSight, Zen, Pixel Magic employees to feel welcome here, to be able to have constructive...
If you ever want more players to join, just post a thread here. That’s the purpose of it! I enjoy popping in on other tourneys when it’s a recent table we’ve played, just to see how I do against a completely different group of players. And I l-o-v-e play limits as it’s the truest measure of skill.
At the very least you gotta assume it’s a 2 year contract like FarSight had, which means August 2019 would be renewal. I believe it’s a much longer deal though, especially considering FarSight was looking to buy it outright. My gut tells me 5 years would make sense for both parties.
For the record, I switched to PC a few years ago and benefited from Zen posting tables to Humble Bundle and knocking 75% off in a Steam winter sale. So again, treating customers right.
1. Fiasco? Hyperbole much? 99.9% of us couldn’t have cared less about that. The number of people that actually read through ANY eula is so infinitesimal, and then you all freaked over a misunderstanding of what was written, thinking your data could be mined. Way to go Jacoby & Meyers.
2. I...
I hope the same attention is being paid toward the other 3 tables too. All the focus has been on Fish Tales for the obvious reason of it not being timed play. Medieval Madness has a lot of peculiarities that might only rear their head in unlimited play.
On standard Zen tables does it level up even while playing in Classic? I know they are supposed to, but for some reason I recall not getting any level ups a few times on tables. But yes, I agree that leveling up while playing in Classic would be good.
