It depends on how you define constant. They don't check every frame, or every second. Sometimes they don't check until something accesses it. So it could appear to work, but later on it's been reset. But the ROMs DO integrity checks, whether you want to believe it or not.
The pro mode method...
We decided to use one set of leaderboards for all platforms, although the scores are stored with a platform flag. I'm not sure how complicated it would be to filter by platform.
FarSight account is needed for leaderboards.
From what I can tell, it only happens if you go into the table menu, then switch to another table and back out. If you go in and back out it seems fine. Looking into it today.
Version 1.23.9 is out and has Friend Leaderboards. Once you get the new version log in with your FarSight account and it'll link your Steam and FarSight accounts, so that you and your friends can see each other on the leaderboards.
Friend leaderboards will be coming in the next update. I was able to hook them in by matching the steam account to FarSight login. After this patch if you log in with your FarSight account in the PC version, it'll link the Steam ID, so that when your friends look at the leaderboards it'll find...
Challenge mode is where you play a set of tables and have to get a set score or better to move on. You have limited retries.
Sorry about not putting out release notes. I tend to fix things and forget to write down what I changed. Usually the last week before release I'm working on so many...
Just want to clarify, if you buy the table packs in game, they are tied to your Steam ID using Steam's api's. The FarSight login isn't used at all in the purchasing. The only time anything is tied to you FarSight account is for Kickstarters.
Challenge is coming soon to PC. The What's New message is used on all platforms.
There are some bugs in Challenge mode on PC so we don't want to release it yet.
Not really sure about most of those. I can tell you what I have working so far.
I have a method to draw plasma segment displays on the dmd. It only works with two rows of 16 characters. We have it rendering the backglass in the 2nd monitor. For non DMD tables this means the displays will...
Most likely DX11
I'm still working on a steam friends leaderboard solution.
There will be no flyby on cabinet version.
Thanks. I just know that the camera's I've tried so far all look bad in some way or another.
Even with the camera needing work it's pretty cool to play with a cabinet.
I got backglass rendering working. It was way more complicated than I had hoped. The next major issue is handling the playfield rendering. If you render at a camera angle similar to the persons eye position, the back of the table is smaller than the front cause of perspective. In Virtual...
From what I've recently learned we've been waiting on agreement/contracts with Microsoft, publisher and us. Unfortunately the legal system is much slower than the technology world. As the Facebook post says we'll post some info once we have something solid. We've made the mistake of...
