Huh. I like the art. That's about it though. Really basic layout, no? An orbit, a ramp, a dead end dump, and some stand-up targets. There was absolutely nothing on the table as I watched that I was like, "oh, can't wait to see what happens when the ball is shot there!" Also noticed on the score...
We just spent 10 minutes in the BlahCade podcast for this week ripping on the choice of Firepower II. FarSight is trolling us both with table choice and making us stair at the orange buffoon.
Metallica is the one I'd probably purchase as I've had a great time on it every time I've played.
Never played Dialed In, but I'm a Lawlor fan so it's tempting. Only negative is I have to judge JJP tables off the only one I've played, and I'm not at all impressed with WoZ.
Big Lebowski looks...
I'm gonna be traveling up to Portland for a film shoot from July 12-21. The weekend will be mine to do whatever, so you know I wanna check out the pinball scene (which I hear is awesome there)! I don't care about how awesome the bar (since I don't drink) or music is, I just want a large variety...
The key difference is that FarSight has to emulate the tables, which takes up one set of processing, while a different set if processing handles the TPA game itself. Essentially they're running a game on top of a game. This is why the game can be taxing on devices. Zen functions as one fully...
They release a new game because it allows them to fully implement everything they want to without being hampered by old tech. This is something Zen has realized and FarSight fails to. By doing this AND allowing transferring of tables to PFX 3, they move everyone off last generation game and into...
First I recall: Banzai Run, Comet, Haunted House at the Balboa Fun Zone on the beach boardwalk in SoCal.
First owned: Firepower. Not by design, but because it suddenly was available and very cheap. Playable for a month, tore it apart, still in pieces 3 1/2 years later, but closing in on putting...
I was about to post all of this as a front page article, but then I saw Sun Vulcan had already made a post, so I just promoted it!
This potentially looks like a lot of fun. Whether you like Zen tables or not, you have to admit their user interface and how you are kept up to date and challenged...
Tann, allow me to retort:
I've gone on record as saying I think the Aliens table is one of the best Zen has ever done. Your only gripe was about the auto complete mission aspect, but if I'm not mistaken it is only like that the first time through. After the wizard mode, you actually have to...
*Update*
I have now tried the Wipeout beta. Enough about that, how 'bout dem glow balls, huh? Some are better than others, most looking like the glowing tip of a Playstation Move controller. In other words, a soft dull glow. I'd like them to continue with this idea and do glowing plasma balls...
Some incredibly inexpensive offers this go around, which a bunch of tables at 75% off. Saw a few tables that only cost $.50 and a bunch at $.75
If you've ever thought about switching from console to PC, this is the type of sale to do it with. Scoop up everything that is at 75% off and then fill...
Depends on what the settings are. On my actual machine, I have it set that you can only earn 1 extra ball per ball, even if you hit multiple specials. Also, when playing the extra ball I am not able to collect another, meaning I can only earn a maximum of 3 extra balls per game. I don't know...
If you want to hear more about VPCabs, we interviewed the owner, Brad Baker, in our podcast and he talks a bunch about his design decisions.

On top of people building their own cab, there are also professionally built cabinets out there. They are expensive, but you might look them up to see what ideas you can borrow for your own.

That's exactly what I did. I had already bought season 2 on PS3 when the Steam announcement came. At the same time, there was lots of PS4 talk going on, which made me start worrying about migrating, especially since I knew I wouldn't own a PS4 until at least a year after release. I'll say it...
