Just to clear up confusion, there is the h2h beta that's been going on for months, and now there is a new h2h beta being tested where there are only 8 tables to select from and you wager tokens or something to play.
I've yet to play anyone in this new mode, I plan on logging in at 2pm Pacific...
My approach virtually every time to playing a table in TPA:
1. Just flip the ball around, shoot for flashing lights, if there are ramps, get the ball up them. Essentially just feeling out the table and seeing where I can shoot the ball.
2. After about a dozen games, there are bound to be rules...
Over thinking it.
In game, the "all time" tab would be wiped at the start of every season. That's it. The monthly wipes monthly already, and your friends scores would wipe due to the all time being wiped. That's it, done. The 'gulf' between mobile players, keyboard players, controller players...
I agree that Medieval Madness is a good one to learn on. It guides you towards what you should shoot out and the rules are fairly straight forward. Plus you learn the art of combo-ing ramps. If you step out of DMD world, Whirlwind is fairly straight forward for learning a non wizard mode table...
World Records are only valid if everybody trying to achieve them can do so within the same conditions the initial record was set. When it comes to video games, everyone needs to be playing the same version. And I'm sorry if Tarek gets his feelings hurt or any of the other handful of players...
I'm not up to the title of the thread (and then there were three...), but I'm close!
So as heard on the BlahCade Podcast, I've acquired an Eight Ball Deluxe to go along with my Firepower (which has been in pieces for 3 years now). Picked it up for $625, but unlike Firepower, the playfield is in...
I say it every time the topic comes up; leaderboards should be wiped once a year. It clears off all the bogus scores, scores obtained before updates, and also clears it of players who no longer play the game. Leaderboards should be living things, in flux, as a way to engage the active community...
But FarSight isn't taking the month off, the game of TPA is. They're still gonna have an excessively busy month working on what I'm sure is a rather large back log of stuff.
One thing with SPA I'm pleased about is they have narrowed their scope of devices. I know a lot of people might feel...
Kingpin was 100% ready to rock as far as I was concerned. Had a good time with it too, as I seemed to have figured it out as opposed to the people I was playing against who couldn't get anything going. Managed to activate all the main modes in one game.
King Kong from Data East was also...
Yes, I have indeed played the prototype, as well as the even less complete Playboy table for Pin2000. The owner of these collects rare prototypes, which is how I've also gotten to play Kingpin, King Kong, Krull, Sea Serpant, and more. This is also the guy who has Zingy Bingy, but I've not seen...
Are you not able to adjust the rumble affect via the controller or the software running it? I use a PS4 controller via DS4 Windows and can do just that. Maybe you can do something similar in the controller settings on your computer, not within the TPA program? Funny thing is, I love a good...
Really? And why would you say that? TPA is their primary source of revenue. SPA is still just ramping up and is in no position to carry the company. Beyond that, there are no other FarSight games in the pipe (that I'm aware of). Believe me, there's still meat on the bones and FarSight isn't...
Oh man, I saw the notice for this in an email last night and forgot to do it when I got home. Saw this post this morning, went to the site, got it with only 1 hour to spare!!
I love how in less than a few months I've gotten now 3 racing games for free from Humble Bundle. Good times.
I'm not going to disagree about Pinball Arcade not being optimally efficient. I also don't know hardly anything about programming to know what hurdles FarSight has to go through to run their game. I will say my computer is 8 years old and runs TPA in DX11 just fine. It all comes down to the...
