Yes, this is a known issue with the TPA sound server (admitted by Bobby in the Round 2 audio interview). They suggested that they will try an improve the latency issues.
I wish they would get on it. It is a bugbear for me with all tables. All tables are affected on the TF300T
Whille you can manually close TPA by using the methods suggested, there is no need as such.
The Dalvik VM will manage the memory required on your device, and essentially puts the app into stasis when it is running in the background. If other events on your device demand that memory is...
Ryan confirmed in the 1.14 beta thread that this will be implemented after the ouya release (timing-wise, that is as precise as we get at this stage).
Ryan can confirm timings closer to implementation.
Yeah, Stuart is a star. I chat with him on #PinballArcadeFans frequently, although he hasn't been on recently (which would suggest he is damn busy).
Ryan needs an assistant.
And as much as I'm all about certain "features, features, features" Ryan, I'm seriously impressed with what you managed to punch out single-handed this month.
Seriously impressive!
I'm stoked to hear that, Ryan! The leaderboard is very cool on enabled games. Will in game standard and wizard goals be hooked into the Play framework as well? It is very cool!
I don't think that would happen here.
The thumbs button is just a way of saying "I agree with what that user said", and don't want to pollute the thread with huge quotes with what amounts to a +1 comment.
Those people with requests for thumbs in their sigs are doing it wrong.
I've noticed some sound quality issues as well. I know that era of games didn't have great quality speech, but the sounds sound quite muddy. I can't really speak with conviction because I have not played a Pin*Bot IRL, but if someone at Farsight could compare with the real machine, that might be...
Also, please consider trying out the high res models on us Ryan.
I know you've seen performance hits, but enabling a switch or something would enable us to switch it off if performance was not acceptable on our devices.
Even if we had to switch apk builds, it would surely be worth putting it...
I just played a shmup game then with the framework, and it is really slick!
The integration is so seamless. Even if we could get a start with basic user account follows in TPA, then branch out into table achievements later.
Would love to see it implemented for TPA.
Do steer clear of the Galaxy range of tablets. The MALI SoaC GPUs are under-speced, and you will not have access to the Testures: High option.
Choose a Tegra 3 SoaC Tablet (N7, TF300, TF700), or (from what I've heard) a Nexus 10. Also remember that the N10 is a Samsung tablet, and the GPU is...
Yeah, the last thing I would want to happen is branch the feedback into two streams. Perhaps the solution in the OP would be great for devs without an established forum or feedback system?
Would still like to hear what Ryan reckons about it. ;-)
I'm on an XDA beta testing thread testing a variety of apps (yes, TPA isn't my only beta testing gig), and I've read an interesting development regarding the Android Developer Console.
The console now provides developers the ability to deploy alpha and beta builds directly through Google Play...
I miss it frequently. Use it all the time on other Tapatalk forums like XDA.
You can petition Gord to enable it in the Tapatalk thread in the site feedback forum.
I'd  it, if I could. :-P
