All of those are valid points. The padding on the 1-10 scale is a "nice" way of saying someone/something is not good while still saying its good. Hey, look your rating is 6.8 so that's good, well above an average rating. But realistically its lower than almost all of the other ratings so its...
So if you go the re-theme route what are you thinking about for the new theme? You could truly do just about anything for an EM when you think about it..
Finally got around to cleaning up my 100% tonight by beating the Ultimate Challenge on TCP. It took more tries than I expected although I felt like if I played more frequently it wouldn't have taken as many games. It took about 50-60 full games (not counting quick restarts) in the end. Not...
Nice! From what I've read on Pinside working on EMs is daunting at first but once you get how everything works together they become easier to work on.
I didn't think to mention it before but I recognize you and Karl on Pinside because you use the same names and avatars but I don't. I'm...
Nice find, thanks for the link.
I did on the PS3. Its not that bad since the kick-out return will lead to a catch on the right flipper repeatedly if you hold both flippers up. Shooting the hole from the right flipper is pretty safe and easy.
Dead flipper bounce pass in TPA all day long. Use the strong open field nudging to aim the ball to the correct angle and position on the flipper so it bounces under control to the opposite side. I don't bother with live catches or drop catches in TPA at all since they're not reliable enough...
I've always had a sneaky suspicion that TPA's collision mesh for the tops of the slings is very angular, not like the rounded top edge of real slings. Obviously a round ball hitting a rounded piece of rubber can bounce off at any angle but if that edge was flat at about a 45 degree angle (like...
I don't know, I played Fireball II a couple times this summer and I thought it was pretty good. I'm not a fan of zipper flippers so I doubt I'd like the original more.
I agree with this. I would add that there are many real tables where one really hard nudge (shove) can result in a tilt and I think only a few TPA tables will do that (I know Genie for sure at least).
Agreed. They could add a hud like with the DMD. I think that would actually be a great idea because with the camera angles I use (mostly 2, some 1) it is often difficult to see what's going on with the roll-overs.
That's good to hear since the demo version was already pretty good. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product and seeing how some of the faster tables play with the improved engine.
