The monitors that were having an issue with the Medieval Madness 'Shoot Again' circle were all 1920x1080. A 27" ViewSonic VA2702w and a 23" Acer H233H. When I've played in portrait mode, I changed my resolution to 1680x1050 and maintained the original aspect ratio, so I have small black bars...
I have issues with 1920x1080 (1.78 ratio) in portrait mode with round objects being slightly irregular-shaped. Every circular object appeared a tiny bit wider than it was tall. The amount of visual skewing depended a lot on the view used and and the table. In 1920x1200 or 1680x1050, which has...
Thanks, I saw this option in the table settings, but I assumed (incorrectly) that "Rumble: On/Off" was for the controller. It is much better, for me, without the crazy table-shaking visuals.
I still see the option, but make sure you are in the Global Settings tab and not the Program Settings tab when in the NVIDIA Control Panel's Manage 3D Settings.
I was hoping for any bug fixes in the update, but it seems like this is only to add new tables. Fired up Gorgar immediately after downloading and installing the "patch", and all of the bumpers are lit from the start of the game. Guess I will just stick to playing the PC version for now. (which...
More buggy tables. :p
I hope some of the well-known bugs have been patched along with this update, as I know updates with the PS4 console are few and far between.
Crossing my fingers! Heading for home now.
The PS4 uses OpenGL, not DirectX. DirectX is a Microsoft thing. If DX11 implementation is like any other game I have played, there is usually an option to use DX11 if your system is capable. I would expect this to eventually be added as an option for the configuration utility before launching...
These are my dream updates for TPA:
Complete overhaul of the physics engine to include ball spin and generally to make the game play more realistically.
A user controlled static camera that can be saved for each table, complete with pan, tilt, and zoom.
An upgraded lighting system, similar to...
Right, but there a lots of things about TPA that are not realistic. The lighting and sound are already pretty good. If I could have either ball spin and more accurate physics or DX11 lighting effects in an update tomorrow, I'd be more excited about the physics changes.
I remember playing Gorgar at the arcade back in 1980 with AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" blaring over the sound system. The place was recently converted over from a failing disco, and they still had the fog machines working and flashing lights all over the place. So, my experiences may be different...
Having played many more real pinball table games than virtual table games, I do appreciate lighting, and I am eagerly anticipating the PC DX11 implementation. That said, the lighting we currently have is not horrible (except maybe Genie...:p), and if there happened to be a lack of resources...
I realize your statement is tongue-in-cheek, but you could reverse that and it might make more sense. The console versions are more likely to stop people from investing in a PC.
I already have a nice, big HD TV. My video card cost as much as the PS4 when I bought it. :(
Still don't have any...
I enjoy a light show as much as anyone, but after playing Black Knight and witnessing the ball fly through and out of the table, I'd rather keep the same lighting the PC version currently uses in exchange for fixing bugs and the hot mess that is Black Knight, as an example.
Ah, yes, your point about the Firepower drop targets basically answers my question with regards to the building sinking into the Earthshaker table's playfield. It seems extremely unlikely due to these license rules.
Can't log in once I log out. The link that pops up does not work for me either, though I can navigate to the main link https://www.pinballanalytics.com/ and then login using the "My Account" link. This user name and password shows "Failed Login" when attempting to log in while in the game.
All high scores are missing from my game. I am using the PC version. I don't see any high scores at all, friends or otherwise. Every table shows "NONE" for any high score, weekly, monthly and all time. I noticed this after obtaining a personal best high score on White Water. I'm still...
I doubt they could nab one of the 200 sample tables that were made, but how difficult would it be to make that piece move up and down in a video game, provided it was something that Williams would allow? The only reason it was abandoned in production versions was cost. It was supposed to be...
