Thanks for your input, Roy. It's great to have one of the top players in the world commenting on the game.
I don't mean to pester, but I would love to know - what tables would you like to see recreated in The Pinball Arcade that aren't there yet?
If I recall correctly, they actually build each table on PC first then go about porting it out to the consoles and mobile platforms, so the PC build would be the only build that isn't itself a port, truly.
Besides, the XBox 360 hardware is just PC hardware anyway.
If that's the case, what about the tables that don't have a launch button but still updated?
As far as I can see it looks like the playfield on Genie has been cleaned up a bit. The boxes around the lights are still present, but much less noticeable.
A very interesting perspective, Roy. Thanks for commenting.
What're your personal thoughts on how the physics from Pinball Arcade stacks against the real thing?
I agree. Dr. Who would be pretty cool.
And since we're on the topic of time traveling... how about Back to the Future?
It's clear that the license holders are open to new products given the recent BTTF video games.
Really excellent work, Ryan.
Lots of people complained about the new UI when it debuted, but I'm a fan. This update makes it even better. Very slick and responsive. I even tried to get the rotation-black-screen bug to trigger, but it seems to be completely taken care of.
This may be a table that I never complete the Wizard Goals on simply because of that single one. There are a few tables I've pretty much accepted I may never complete, Genie being one of them. I still love the table.
I really must agree here. I love having the flyers, but to be honest, the resolution they're currently at makes them essentially worthless. If you're going to include them, do it right.
Woah, that's pretty harsh.
Personally, I find Wesley to be most annoying the first season, and much lesser so later on. Hell, he's even likable in some situations when you pair him up with Data or Geordi.
I hadn't really even noticed any voice overs Wil Wheaton had on the table.
That depends on your definition of "confirmed." Has Farsight announced the table? No. Has Farsight allowed pictures to be released which feature a table that the community is 99% certain is Whitewater? Yes.
So we know they have a table in their possession, at least. (Or so we think.)
1. Fix bugs. (Including graphical bugs! Objects or decals clipping through each other, things like posts and plastics that are missing altogether, misaligned light decals, etc.)
2. Return to older tables and update the physics to the excellent standard we see in current releases.
3. Implement...
I'm sure we'll get all the tables you've mentioned eventually, (maybe not Safe Cracker) with Cactus Canyon coming sooner rather than later since it has already been officially announced. Rather than have them all out very soon, I think it's more likely that the top tables from the filtered list...
