    I had exactly the same problem with an ipad2 and HDMI out to my tv. It was fine until you connected the HDMI adapter, then there was lag on the TV and the ipad's screen.

    I notice the menu looking low-res of the PS3, but to be honest as long as the tables look ok the menu doesn't bother me. I may be behind the times here, but going to a retina display from no retina really shows the detail. I'm impressed!!!

    I have an iPad 2 on iOS 7.0.2 and don't suffer from any slowdown on said tables. I'm sure you have done this and I don't mean to treat you like an idiot but I have to check, are all your background apps closed?

    Should I buy a Vita?

    I play TPA mostly on my Vita since I got one in june, and I really like it. Portrait mode sucks, and some of the low rez artwork sucks too, but it feels good in general with real buttons.
