Just to verify this bug, here is gameplay video over at pinball.org
http://pinball.org/videos/gameplay-videos/gorgar/
You can see the strobing (snake pit only) at about 1:40
I can verify that Pop Sergeant is mostly correct. It is 1-2-3-4 that lights a star. Completing 1-2-3-4 when both stars are lit (that's three times) starts the rotating extra ball target.
Completing 1-2-3-4 also lights the snake pit for its top score, which may be where Carl is confused...
This one still ticks me off:
Device/OS: i5 iMac/10.8.4
Bug Description: Gorgar white lights—it's pretty much impossible to tell if they're lit (GOR, GAR, the kickout hole)
Steps To Reproduce: play table
Frequency: 100%
Additional Comments: previously reported to support
Mac users will be happy to know that "Touch nudging the top half of the screen would send a special button press." Yeeeesh. The "What's Fixed" continues to be a direct port from iOS.
No immediately apparent bug fixes or enhancements.
Glad to see The Shadow and Back to the Future (currently) in the top ten. Difficult tables, like The Shadow, are great for TPA, since only virtual quarters are harmed. The BTTF theme has personal signifigance for me. The date that Marty McFly goes "back to" is the day I got married.
An alpha list:
Back to the Future (Data East, 1990)
Congo (Williams, 1995)
Doctor Who (Bally, 1992)
Elvis (Stern, 2004)
Flintstones, The (Williams, 1994)
Indiana Jones : The Pinball Adventure (Williams, 1993)
Lord of the Rings, The (Stern, 2003)
Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (Sega, 1995)
Shadow...
I like the improvements over time, but the Mac version leaves much to be desired. Looks like I'll be forced to jump to my Windows partition and play the Steam version, just like I do to play Visual Pinball.
Last day to vote. I do like me some Bally. Here's an ordered list. The first three should be played by everyone.
1. Paragon
2. Eight Ball Deluxe
3. Fathom
4. Indy 500
5. WCS '94
6. Medusa
7. Embryon
8. WHO dunnit
9. Evil Knieval
10. Future Spa
I understand your appreciation of tables that are accessible (easy to get into, but perhaps difficult to master.) Big Shot is the epitome of that kind of table. The lower-left chamber in Paragon is usually easy to escape. A simple nudge will often make the ball bounce off of the bumper and back...
I have little issue with your picks, but the gameplay on the tables that you dismissed is quite good. Paragon and Xenon are quite good, and I don't have to like soccer/footy to appreciate the gameplay in World Cup Soccer '94.
I'd suggest that anyone still to vote should check out the PAPA links...
I can field that one. Here is a link to the main article on these polls. Next is Gottlieb/Premier, then Stern/Data East/Sega and the last of six is the Premium Licensed poll...
Personally, I have more of a problem with the fans of the table than I do with the machine. Classic Sterns rock. That said, I smile when I read Mark's posts. :D
Quit Talking and Start Chalking
Eight Ball Deluxe is likely to be coming our way regardless, but I'll still be touting it loud and clear for this poll. My signature is one possible tilt alert in EBD. This is a seminal table that every pinball player should play. The ruleset is deeper than it...
"The series runs from June 9, 2013 to August 31, 2013 with each of the six blind polls (which will feature 30 tables each) running for two weeks. The current poll standings will be visible for 24hrs. mid way through each active poll, after which, the poll standings will be hidden once again for...
There's just one problem—no one actually did that.
Pinballfan69 dissed Goin' Nuts on its own merits, and said "the only interesting table in that pack is Flight 2000."
Sinistar dissed Flight 2000 on its own merits, and never mentioned Goin' Nuts.
